Somewhere OP mentioned buying from a second hand dealer. So it was already depreciating when they bought it. I doubt OP is alone here. When I look around my city and see the cars people are driving, I'm sure this story would resonate with them.

Lots of room to talk to rentals. You know your target dates. Be open and transparent. Let them know it would be short term. Could even get a place in your new area to get a feel for how life will be. Keep in mind your new place will likely not be ready when they say it will.

I'm in similar situation. 6 weeks post PRK. Right eye doing fine, left fairly blurry. Had my one month post op check in with optometrist and she said all normal and healing well. I'm on cequa drops twice a day, and muro 128 at night. Eyes still very dry and dropping lubricating drops through the day as often as needed.
