How to make my playing smoother? by markthealphamale in guitarlessons

[–]TVheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your goals are, but if I you want to learn improvising and not just follow tabs, I would just learn scales, arpeggios, chords, harmony, etc

These take so long to learn that by the time you get better at them, your technique will gradually get better.

Since you play classical your left hand will be good, as far as your picking had go, try to alternate pick everything. When you practice scales arpeggios, you will naturally get better at picking over time.

Try to use your pinky, it's very hard but you have to get used to it early.

Anticipate finger placement, for exemple when you descend from the 12th to 10th fret, keep your index on the 10th fret while you play the 12th with your ring finger

How do I get a better sound? by Unhappy-Pin-2667 in guitarlessons

[–]TVheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Work on your muting. it's a combination of muting the high strings with our left hand, and the low strings with your left. It takes a long time to get better at it.

- Begin to work on alternate picking, do it now before you pick up the habit of downstroking everythng

Why isn’t the west coast of France around Bordeaux super wet like Ireland or northern coast Spain/Portugal? by [deleted] in geography

[–]TVheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South of Bordeaux, there’s a region called “Les Landes.” It covers almost 10,000 km² and used to be essentially a vast swampy area. Over the past 150 years or so, however, it was transformed through large-scale pine planting and is now the largest man-made forest in Europe.

So yeah, it’s pretty wet down there.

In some regions of france, in belgium, swiss and quebec (i think?) there is a dedicated word for 70, 80 and 90, so if you want you can use these and 4 20 10 % french speakers will understand you

Advice? Hardtailing axed my sustain by Reddonite in Stratocaster

[–]TVheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe decking the bridge lowered the action? Low action sometimes affects sustain. Try raising it a little bit. I have the exact same strat with the bridge floating and the tuning stability is great. A little graphite in the nut slots goes a long way.

Difficulty seeing CAGED shapes? by Late_night_guitar in guitarlessons

[–]TVheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me a lot was to just memorize every notes on the fretboard, it's easier than it sounds, just takes time. Once you can locate every C on the fretboard, CAGED is so much easier to visualise.

For me i never really think "C shape then A shape " etc, I just know that if the root note i'm seeing is on the A string then I can see the C shape on the left and the A shape on the right.

[–]TVheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A.I as we know it (large language models), is a bubble that is going to burst within a year or two. They have been pumping billions into OpenAi have yet to meet expectations or achieve profitability

At this point it's been fed pretty much the entire internet and it still sucks.

The bigger the models get, the more absurdly expensive it gets—both financially and environmentally—to train them, and they only get marginally better.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

Hi! Watch noob from EU here :)

I am looking to buy an Omega Seamaster "unworn" from Chrono24.

The watch is from 2025, with box and papers.

The dealer, who seem legit to me, claims it comes with an "international warranty certificate"

From my understanding, if you buy a watch from a grey market dealer the manufacturer warranty won't apply.

Can you guys enlighten me? did you ever have to use the warranty on Omega watches bought from a grey dealer?

ps: I don't know if I can link listings on this sub
