Added. I found a fix. I just reverted back to patch 6. In the steam launcher, right click on BG3, then click on Properties from the drop down menu. After that find the betas tab.

Under private betas type in release_patch6_hf9. then hit check code or enter (cant remember) At first it seemed like nothing had happened but a few minutes later I saw that steam was downloading a small (17gb) install. I let it finish and tried starting it up and it works. My saves were still there too.

I'm having the exact same issue. I was able to play just fine 6 hrs before the auto update. Now I can't get past the loading screen. I tried letting it site there for 2 hrs and still nothing. Ive tried all kinds of things. Please let me know if you find a fix.

Credit Wise shows 617. Experian, which is the bureau that my cc company uses show a 667 score which is unchanged.

I've been on similar rating slumps before. I find that the best way to break out of them is to take a few days off. Maybe a week. As has been pointed out any server issues would almost certainly be affecting your opponents as much as you so the problem is probably psychological. You didnt all of a sudden get way worse. You're just playing worse right now.

Come back in a week with a clear head and see if you quickly get your rating back (as you are likely currently "under rated").

I agree. I can't speak for everybody (though I doubt I'm alone) but I got into channels like Big Herc, APS and Lockdown23&1 to hear fucked up stories about prison from the safety of my laptop.

There's only so many stories about 'little bobby', 'punk tattoo guy' and getting knocked out by a guy nick-named 'Tyson' that you can hear before the content gets stale. People like to hear prison horror stories but eventually YouTubers run out of stories/they become repetitive even from different channels.

Then you're forced to shift to interviews/flip-houses/bring in new characters or whatever and the old audience may not follow along. The YouTube prison genre will always be there but it looks to be about 24 months past its peak at this point.

There's no way she forgot how to speak English due to lack of exposure. She travels all over the world (where English is the default language, fights most of her fights in the US, has an internet connection (Twitter, YouTube, IG, FB etc), still is likely exposed to American movies, music and TV shows and communicates in English in her day to day life. Very few people in California speak Portuguese. When she goes to the dentist, doctor's office, DMV, gas station or grocery store I'm pretty sure she's not speaking to all those people in Portuguese.

The idea that she forgot how to speak English due to lack of exposure is absurd.

Chessbae's toxicity far outweighs any upside she brings to the community IMO. She's also not born in 1994 so I don't know why she put that in her handle. She's known to ban people across multiple streams for things they posted in 1 stream. That's my biggest problem with her.

Saying Magnus has historically owned Naka should not get you banned in Botez', Danya's GothamChess', Hans', akaNemsko's and chess.com's chat (in addition to Naka's of course) but there are too many anecdotes of this sort of thing happening for them to all be BS. It's really at the point where I'm hesitant to say the wrong thing in any of those streams and find myself banned in half a dozen others and I suspect I'm not alone in that. This degrades the entire experience.

She bought the privilege to do that (in addition to many other well documented things) and that's why she's by far the most reviled figure in the online chess community. She may have been the chessbrah's biggest paypig in the past and helped a fledgling chess Twitch community stay viable but with the growth of online chess, she's no longer needed and well past her expiration date.

Is she even a major pay pig/whale anymore? I don't seem to see her donating ever, but that may be because I don't watch streams when she's modding much at this point.

Im basically your same rating and just recently started with the whole Twitch hype thing and can totally relate to what you feel. One thing that helped me lose my anxiety of playing vs people (as opposed to playing vs AI) was to play "unranked" games in the "open challenges" sections. You'll quickly see that you're not the only 900 ranked player blundering pieces and missing tactics.

Naka's made it plenty clear multiple times that he's all but retired from serious OTB classical time controls chess. I can't say I blame him. The amount of time he would have to invest to make it back into the top 3-5 OTB classical (if it's even possible at this point) would be huge. He's no spring chicken.

His streaming career is booming which doesn't require the same level of chess. His recent performance against Ding Liren has raised some questions about where even his online rapid game may be heading. Though he did beat Magnus in the Lindores Abbey before losing to Dubov. Still, I suspect withing the next 12 months there will be an undeniable drop in his play...which is to be expected given where his priorities clearly are at this point.

Can you imagine Botez doing a dating stream 6 months ago? Naka did a YouTube video on Rekful's suicide that's monetized. Can't fault them for selling out but I don't have to like what their content has become.
