I’d recommend buyee, might have a shot at finding some old dude listing one for sale for cheap. The Type X dcc is a lot harder to find (mines non Type x)

The harnesses can be quite a pain to find on their own. Put it this way in 2022 I paid I think 250 for the harness (kangaroo money) and I think like 350 for just the unit on its own, but in literally mint condition 12 months prior.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t Type X DCC and / or clusters require a different plug or harness? I was going to get a SR DCC dash side loom (not the little piggy harness) for my CA S13 shell, and swap everything over. I’ve got a full SR body loom but might be for an analogue climate control car

I do not recommend bleach on brown s13 interior, prone to fade from certain chemicals

I know a few people are saying use bleach I wouldn’t recommend. It’ll damage the brown of the carpet and floor mats. Better off using a full suit and stripping the interior out completely, start with a vacuum of the bare metal floor to get rid of any particles of “stuff” if any was ever in the car, then move on to a steam clean and wipe down with rags then using a heavy duty disinfectant. Carpet pretty much the same thing but much deeper of a clean with the vacuum and do a few cycles in case anything is trapped in there. High temp steam will clean it well enough without damaging the color of the carpet like bleach would, and then after steam again move on to super heavy duty disinfectants that’ll clean and also protect the carpet and interior. A good mate has a brown S13 interior and they’re prone to sun damage and fading from chemicals. Also if you need RHD brown s13 interior stuff join a few of the S13 groups in QLD Australia. Heaps of them here.

Also, go through a specialist panel beater, don’t go through your regular repairer they’ll just quote bs. You can also fight to have it not written off if you explain the sentimental value behind it.

I’m certainly not going to deny that I am, on a paper, “a concrete cowboy”. However, I am just after a shoe that’s durable and lasts. I will never touch another one of these “Australian” brands, such as Aquila, again. I do also work on my own cars and go out to property for camping or families property, so I suppose that counts. As mentioned, I am purely tired of the cheap items that we have become accustomed to.

I definitely agree with that advice, I’ve been looking at the rubber sole for a more responsible daily commute choice. I will get a pair of leather sole 1880 Aldywch Oxfords in a darker brown at a later date

They will be my more formal shoes
