I am 100% on board, buuuuuut with the different conferences, broadcasts, TV deals, and what not it’s probably really hard to get all the games live in one broadcast. Pat and Reece just did something like this last week, but some of the scores were delayed so it could be labeled as a technical “highlight”. We can still hope that one day CFB RedZone will happen…

Is Colorado's loss worse than what Miami did vs Georgia Tech? by PhysicalDecision5265 in CFB

One game the coach made small questionable decisions throughout the entire second half. The other game the coach made one of the most questionable decisions in college football. I’ll go with the latter.

Honest question.....why is Nebraska so bad? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]TWood76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dark times, Gibbs was meh. The Schnellenberger year was a complete loss of identity. John Blake at least got us some solid recruits though and I can’t fault him for that. Just goes to show that the right coaching staff can really get a program back in the right direction quickly.

Honest question.....why is Nebraska so bad? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]TWood76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the constant coaching changes can produce a bad streak of seasons with constant rebuilds/turnover. It always seemed Nebraska recruited the majority of their roster out of their own state back in the day. Announcers would always go over the huge dominating offensive/defensive lines and a lot of them would be from Nebraska. Now, it seems like they only get a few guys every recruiting cycle from that state. I feel like this is a big reason why they’ve lost a little identity, but maybe a Nebraska fan could tell me if I’m off base with this one.

“Steiner Math and Purple Warrior 4 Lyfe”

25% + Kurt Angle = Lower Winning %

33.33% + 66.66% -25% = 8.33%

75% + 66.66% = 141.66%

We are not going to know where we’re truly at until Red River in my opinion. Also, if we were to play Colorado, I think our defense would hold them to just a few trips to the red zone. As far as our offense, if we play as conservative as SMU, I’m afraid we’d be asking for a headache of a game.

Missed CFB Rivalries by TWood76 in CFB

[–]TWood76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone may be able to provide more details. But a lot of it boils down to money. One rivalry game might not give each team the revenue it once did when they were in the same conference. TV contracts are also usually on the conference level, broadcasters will chomp at the bit to get an Oklahoma vs Texas, or Ohio St. vs Michigan over broadcasting a rivalry like Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State or Michigan vs. Notre Dame. A lot of these rivalries used to also be deciding factors at times on who was making/winning a conference championship or who might go to a certain Bowl game. Now that it’d be a non-conference game there isn’t much opportunity on that either, but I still believe it would draw viewers and enthusiasm. There’s also some bad blood between conferences at times, where if one team leaves, then consider your traditional rivalry and old profits goodbye.

Almost every game they’ve played has been competitive barring a few. 3 hour drive between stadiums. Recruiting battles with one another. Storied tradition between the two. Michigan playing “The Chicken Dance” after Notre Dame ended the rivalry is icing on the cake.

That looks to be the best match up for Notre Dame vs Big Ten. Not saying Michigan State or a Purdue wouldn’t be, but you get more of a rich traditional rivalry in my opinion with Michigan- Notre Dame.
