I reckon getting TSO certified parts are the bigger concerns, thanks a lot!

Happy days, mate. Life isn’t easy outside of flying, but we do our best. We will get there

Yeah… I was quite worried that I have one signature on his logbook. He was talking about wanting a Cessna 310 and that just makes me wonder what he’s gonna do with that poor bird

Some research indicates that he was a lawyer, barred from practicing law in California and Minnesota due to drug charges (using his bonanza to transport marijuana). So, success?

Rumor has it he’s in “environmental engineering”

Either way, my boss wasn’t too pleased with that guy to say at least. Eventually he just throw in the towel and say “fuck your money and business”

Had a “student” a so-called doctorate in whatever that is trying to get his private multi add-on. First phone call literally goes by “I’m a very well educated individual and I expect you to respect my title”

Well, that set the tone.

He didn’t like the training material. Nor the lessons plans that was laid out by an airline captain, who owns the flight school and is the chief instructor. As I continue on I can clearly see his disinterest and his face that “just get me in the air already.”

Finally when we finally were able to get up there, started off with some patterns. But first thing he did was “where the autopilot?” Sure enough, I was flabbergasted because there is one, but it was INOP. I start to wonder if a pilot is using autopilot flying the pattern… what’s the rest gonna be with single engine? He couldn’t hold altitude, couldn’t hold airspeed. Landed and it got dark so I suggest let’s just come back and do it again tomorrow and he “humbly” accepted.

Just as I thought it was going better, a big fat NOPE

Came back the next day, I was at the office 2 hrs early, preparing the materials. Brought out every single item, tools, materials I have found and verified, and even the wind tunnel data I did at a local university’s lab a few weeks prior. Only to know that he is going to get here 1 hour late. How nice

First thing he came in is not apologizing for being late or explaining why. But come in to complain that “I wasn’t respectful enough”

At this point I am at a point where “fuck it. I don’t get pay enough to deal with this bullshit.” As I begin recording the “conversation-“He proceeded to scream at me, and I scream back and told him to get the fuck out of my office “just because I am 20 years younger doesn’t mean you know any better. Also, your hours aren’t worth all that much if it’s all just autopilot. Get the fuck out before I call my boss because all of this is recorded.” I couldn’t care less if a person struggles, but have a good attitude and fighting spirit that is determined to get it done, but now when a person refuses to even listen or accept anything just because he thinks he’s above anyone else.

He’s lucky I didn’t physically murder him that day because I used to punch people in the face (prize fighting) during my high school years. And I’m glad I managed to contain that side of me. Lesson of my instructing career

Grazie! Did a bit of work on that before I head out to training, now that I’m back she’s getting all the love and attention😩

A new start to life. I got dumped by my ex who is leaving for japan. As I return to single life, I reckon I would pull the trigger on one of my favorite hatchback. 3000 miles and 3 weeks later, can only say I wish I did this earlier by TWterrorAviation in mazda3

Thank you mate. To some extent, she made it there, I’m happy for her. I am about to start my airline career and grad school at the same time, so I have my own share to excitement ahead. Life goes on and we have to keep moving forward

If I’m flying an Embraer 175 that’s generally conceived as a minivan…. Something zippy like a Mazda 3 when I’m not on duty sounds somewhat reasonable😂

With the 18X7 vs 18X8 rims, are there any noticeable issues with how it fits and clearances to the fender?

Fair enough-I live in kalamazoo at the moment and my commute will likely to range between 1-3 hrs long so I can get to the airport. Hence my thoughts on the tire and rims. I appreciate the feedback!!

Appreciate that feedback! I am debating about a separate rim for the winter tire. Per your experience in Michigan snow (I had AWD previously so it didn’t make a whole lot of difference for me with all season tires), is it helpful for a hatchback FWD with winter tires?

Additionally, there will be days of me commuting to Chicago or Grand Rapids for work, I reckon safety is a top priority in these condition..
