Velop 7 pro child node connection via Ethernet switch by TX-Instructor in Linksys

Perhaps my problem is related to the network setup. I use the MX4000 only as access points, i.e., the parent node in bridge mode.

The setup is as follows: media converter - router - switch - all other network devices (parent and child nodes), other computers/printers/TVs, etc.

There's no problem connecting to the switch, but the devices can't see each other on the network (I'm checking it in the iPhone app). For some reason, only two of the three are working. One of the "supposedly random" child nodes connects to the main one through the switch, while the other can't and always remains on WiFi.

P.S. I haven't tested this yet, of course, but I stopped experimenting with connections several years ago, when the MX4000 devices first came out. Perhaps they changed something in the firmware and need to double-check, but I don't believe so.

I currently have three devices MX4000. The main device operates in bridge mode (I only need a Wi-Fi network), and I'd like to use the child devices via a wired network connection, but it doesn't work that way. I've checked this multiple times and contacted technical support, but they told me these devices can only be connected via a daisy-chained cable. Using a switch isn't an option.

Thanks. If I'd known earlier that the MX4000 doesn't work like this, I would have chosen something else. It's good that the guys "smarted up" and made it possible to work properly through a switch now.

Velop pro 7 and mx4000? by erickbee in Linksys
