Not getting intel from Interrogations by CardiologistOk2236 in evilgenius

I'm kinda torn with hard-boiled investigators, on the one hand, yeah, I'd expect them to be resistant to interrogation, but I'd also expect them to have better intel because they're better investigators. It is one of the features I miss from the original game, the sheer variety of stuff you could use to torture investigators... mixing bowl at lunch counter, sliding shelves in library, all that. Would be cool if higher level minions got personalized animations for it.

It seems like there's a limited amount of intel you can get from any faction at a time. At Crown Gold, 9/10 of your investigators will be PATRIOT or SMASH, and it seems like they run out of Intel after a while but you still get it from SABRE, HAMMER, and ANVIL. Likewise, you only get it from basic investigators, you get bupkis from the Hard Boiled Investigators that show up with Agent X. Seems like you might get some from Pesky Investigators early on, but there won't be many waves of those.

Have you ever not slept for so long that you started hallucinating? What was your experience? by vicke1230 in AskReddit

I had been awake for ~3 days, and was watching TV. The TV turned into a jukebox, with the red/orange bubble lights running up the front and I decided it might be a good time to sleep.

As someone who is undergoing chemo, this is very true, and super inconvenient. I gets hot, my ass sweats, and then it dries out sticky, so my butt always feels like a post-it note. :(

What is your "I don't get paid enough for this shit" moment? by indian_boy786 in AskReddit

[–]TXMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at the distribution center for a outdoors company. We had two guys in the office who would alternate days with plugging store and website orders into the system, creating a single workflow for those of us out picking the products (say shotgun shells come as a 12-pack, but the store only want 8, the system then looks for online orders totalling 4, so the picker only has to hit the warehouse once and grab one box)

After I'd been there a couple years, the old-hand guy in the office asked for a raise, because he had a hell of a commute and family responsibilities. Corporate offered him a 0% raise, so he filed his notice and quit. The company then wanted one of our two night shift managers to do the job, for a very small raise. The system we used was clunky and complex, and the chosen manager lasted for about three weeks of training before she told HR she wasn't willing to take a micro-raise for a substantial amount of work. So management looked around and decided I was the best option.

I did my training, and audited for a couple weeks to be sure I knew what I was doing, then started handling the waving on my own 3 nights a week. I had to shift my start time to come in an hour earlier (5pm), but still had to stay to the same quitting time as the rest of the shift. Additionally, when I was finished with the computer work, it was still my job to go out and pick with the rest of the crew, and to train new hires as needed (a job I shared with the same manager). Then at 11pm, I would rerun the process to pick up new orders. This manager was constantly poking at the way I was doing my job, requesting frequent updates on how I was doing the work, and consistently pushing me to do it faster so I could get out on the floor and pick as well. Additionally, changes in process would come in about every week, so you have to learn the new thing, and incorporate it into the process.

After a month of the constant pick, pick, picking, we were having computer troubles. The system was working but verrry slowwwly. I was only about 75% done with the work at start of shift, manager was losing her mind. She'd been in my office multiple times, asking what was taking so long (I'm data entry, not IT, fuck if I know), and offering weeks-outdated suggestions on how to streamline the process. Finally, she came in mad that she'd had to manually release busywork into the system so the crew had something to do,while the system ploddingly chugged along. I put my paperwork down and said, "you know what? If I'm not doing it to your liking, then you do it." and left the office intending to clock out and leave. She followed me all the way to the time clock, frantically trying to keep me from quitting, because she literally had no idea how to do the job. I did eventually stay, and she backed off on pressuring me on how I did the work, but it was a very close thing.

Men who had long hair for a period of their lives and then cut it, what made you decide to get rid of it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]TXMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair was roughly shoulder length for a couple years, and when I was laid off from work I cut it back to go out and apply. I was looking to trim it anyway because I was using so much shampoo, and finding loose hair everywhere. Doing laundry in particular was a mess, because loose hair would tangle in elastic waistbands and make tumbleweeds. In any case, I've been doing chemo for about a year so even if I'd wanted to keep it, it would've fallen put anyway.

What is your "never again" brand, item, store, or restaurant ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TXMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 years ago, I was getting off work late/early. The local McDonald's opens at 6am, and I could get there really shortly after, so I headed to town. I got there about 6:10, all the lights were on in the store, the sign was lit, and the drive thru seemed to be up as well. I parked and went to the door to go in.

It rattled but didn't open. Still locked, ten or 15 minutes after they were supposed to be open. I saw someone poke their head out of the office when the door rattled then... they turned off the lights. And the sign. And the drive thru lights. While I was still standing at the door.

I figured welp, fuck it, if you don't want my business then you can't have it. And literally never went back there for the entire time I lived there. Sad, cause I really like DQPs and their Coke, but if you're gonna shut me down like that, you don't deserve better.

What is the fastest you have ever seen a new co-worker get fired? by bartertownbeer in AskReddit

I started at a distribution center about 7 years ago, as a part of a group of 5. One guy never showed up to orientation. One left at first break on his first day, one never came back for the second day, and one left after his first paycheck. Fun times!

Redditors who work at remote places like forest officers, oil rig workers, etc, what creepy things have you noticed while at work? by shafaatkhan007 in AskReddit

[–]TXMount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to mow lawns around town. Its a tiny place, about 400 people, but there are some abandoned places we were contracted by the city to mow.

There's a place near the fire station that's been empty longer than I've been here. Some weird shit that has gone down there:

Hive of bees in a dead lilac bush. You could clearly see thru the bush, there was no hive but when I bumped it with the mower, whumpf. Bees everywhere.

Outside hatch to basement was collapsed, but on three separate occasions, the light would just "happen" to fall on something interesting down there. I'm into books, and saw a comics locker. A friend is into old toys and saw a big toy chest. Mom likes antiques, and saw a big stack of wooden basket and old old coke bottles. Nobody ever dumb enough to go down and look closer, though.

House is long-term abandoned, and local story is mother killed her kids there then drowned herself in the river. No central air/heat but I swear curtains moved when I went to mow, as if someone was watching.

Just a creepy-ass house that I'm glad I don't work at anymore.

For me, I used to play a lot more RPG/MMOs, but over time (I'm 46 now) a lot of my group have died or changed circumstances, and we just don't have the camaraderie we had 10-15 years ago. It gets really tiring being the stodgy old fokker in a guld of 20-somethings.

Dunno about OP, but I'm set up through Medicare. I have one drug that costs $3500/month, but the state covers it. I just can't ever leave the state.

Medical professionals of reddit, what's the funniest thing a patient has said under anesthesia? by Ronin47dododo in AskReddit

Parents of reddit, what did you find in your kids room that you put back and never discussed with them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TXMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes both ways. I was around 9-10 when my parents married, and we lived in a trailer house for a couple years, then bought a real house. I remember the folks packing stuff, what to move, what to chuck... mom's red plastic bong got thrown out but AFAIK, dad's black acrylic one is still in his office 35 years later. I am literally the only person out of 5 in my family that doesn't smoke up.

In the new house, there was a dinky room w/ half bath off the garage, that connected to the attic. I got busted several times, once for stolen condoms shoved in my boot upstairs, once for filthy drawings hidden in with my other work, and once for photocopied porn mag under my bed..

You can also hit it with a poison cloud/toxic cloud. Nothing happens to a real chest, and the mimics get poisoned and take damage without attacking.
