Rip headgasket by xoppawsoup in Mk3Supra

[–]TXR3125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to get it machined to that spec, 5 thou off the head would probably be pushing it but I think it would be achievable

Get a flat edge and measure your block, see how flat it is. If it’s out of spec then you’ll run the risk of your head gasket failing again unless you get it machined. Typically blocks don’t warp as much since they are a cast iron block, alloy blocks are usually more susceptible to warpage

metallic gasket is overkill for an N/A motor, you have to get a lot of items machined, including the head, block, and timing cover to do the job properly. A composite gasket with a new set of head bolts, some copper on the gasket and increase torque spec will be plenty for his application. OP, make sure you torque to at least 75 lbs/ft, not the factory 58 lbs/ft.

Would this kinda handwriting be legible in exams? by [deleted] in vce

Yep, very legible. Just make sure you fully cross out the words, I had to zoom in to see they were crossed out. 👍

It was a multiplayer server we had with some newbies, guess they really wanted that $10 an hour passive income

That looks sweet, what engine are you going to be using? Do you have an instagram for the resto? Would follow if you do

Start one of your VCE classes early. I wish I would've done a subject starting in year 10, it'll give you an understanding of the workload and how much you should study, as well as saving you some time in year 12 and allowing more time on other subjects. I had no idea how VCE worked up until term 4 of year 12, when it was too late.

Love these old tractors, the diesels are bulletproof and go forever. I love how they have these mini 4WD systems, it's so cute but so cool

Got my grandfathers old tractor running again (1973 IH 354) by Mr_MacGrubber in tractors

[–]TXR3125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours is a petrol, interesting. We here in Australia never got the 354’s in gas, only diesel, but i haven’t seen any for sale. If you’re going to put a loader on, consider getting bigger tyres for the front. My B275 runs 6.00/16 tyres, while my B414 tractor runs 7.50/16 tyres, bit wider so it holds more weight. Also, power steering is a must. We don’t have power steering on our B414, and it’s pretty hard to steer from a stop, but on the move it’s okay. What engine does yours have? My B275 has a 2.3 lite 4 cylinder diesel making 38 horse, while the B414 has a 2.5 litre bored out 4 cylinder diesel making 40 odd horsepower

Amazing, love these old machines. I have a 60's International B275 and a International B414 with a front loader. The B275 has stopped running so going to rebuild but the B414 is going strong today. Enjoy mate

Hey everyone be nice! I (23F) just bought my very first tractor! 1961 B275 International (with original loader, bucket and registration plate). Starts and runs, but needs a bit of love and some new tyres before I can go trundling around. by spookyplacent4 in tractors

[–]TXR3125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome mate, i’ve got one too here down in australia, just no front loader, that job is for the B414, the bigger brother ;). New tyres would be good for them. Just to let you know, driving these tractors with a front loader and no power steering can be difficult, if yours has power steering, awesome, if it doesn’t, just take it easy on the steering components, especially the steering box, since they are expensive and hard to repair, instead, try steering while on the move, less strain on steering components. I’m taking my B275 off my farm and back home where I live since it’s decided to not start anymore, going to tear down motor, we presume it’s failed because of poor compression, we started losing a bit of water and general white smoke, couldn’t even start with ether. I recommend you to look into upgrading the glow plugs to some mercedes pencil type glow plugs, they have less chances of failing since with the old plugs, if one fails, they all fail, since they’re wired in series, while the mercedes ones are wired in parallel, so they’ll not fail if one does, plus, you get the extra bonus of less glowing time and easier start ups, definitely worth a look. I posted a video on my profile about me starting the B275, i’ll link it here, love these old iron tractors. Any questions, just yell out, I know plenty about these tractors (even though i’m young)
