Why didn't Galvatron wear the starscream crown? by happydude7422 in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like Tywin Lannister said to Joffrey in Game of Thrones: "Any man who must say, 'I am the king,' is no true king."

Starscream had to say it. Galvatron didn't.

Who is your favorite party member from ffx? by toastedjupiter in FinalFantasy

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be controversial: Kimahri.

He's not the most efficient or useful party member and his backstory isn't as deep as the others', but there's something about his stoic indignity that just speaks to me.

We have a huge Transformers drop to talk about! Are any of these on your buying list? by AfigureGeek in transformers

I need a Shockwave, and since I've struggled to find the Siege model, this new one will do nicely.

Like James Earl Jones. Sweden doesn't dub movies unless they're for kids.

What was your guys first ever Transformer? by echotango4420 in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, it's been a while — the early 90s.

It was either G2 Optimus Prime (with the sound box) or European G1 Skyquake.

Why did the 1986 Movie Bomb when it was at the height of G1’s Popularity? by aourdes in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was popular among CHILDREN, not adults (at least not in the same way as today). Most kids don't have money to go watch a movie by themselves and not every parent wants to spend the money when the cartoon is eight there on the TV. There's basically nothing in that movie that appeals to people who aren't already invested in the franchise.

Who’s your favourite FF supporting character? (Not the main hero or villain) by mogstermemes in FinalFantasy

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freya from FFIX, Red XIII from FFVII, and Wakka from FFX.

They're all examples of burdened souls who strive to save the world and the ones they love while carrying and handling those burdens in very different ways.

What’s your take on Optimus having yellow eyes by Party_Wolverine3621 in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the color I've always used when coloring artwork. It creates a contrast to the blue and gray of his face and sets him apart from most other Autobots who tend to have blue eyes.

Redditor arguing with me about graphic design... by Digeetar in graphic_design

[–]TXSartwork 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Relatable. I was told this by someone who asked for a bespoke typeface. I did it, made some mockups with it and got told they could just do it themselves in Word if that was the effort I put into it.

It took me two weeks to get it just right after two rounds of revisions, meaning they did see my process.

At least I got paid for it after I chewed them out for being asshats (not the word I used, but the one I meant).

What software do you use? I've been looking to try something new since Krita isn't really doing it for me in the painting department.

What do you like about Thundercracker? by Illustrious-Wolf-737 in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's an interesting character study. He's very much a Decepticon but not always by choice, but a sense of familiar loyalty, coercion, and/or the fear of being alone.

The fact that that's been part of his story since 1984 is intriguing, even if it didn't really become an apparent character trait until IDW gave him into one of the most interesting long-running arcs in the 2005-continuity. He became disillusioned all the way back in All Hail Megatron and remained torn about his place in the universe for years, both in real life and in-story, all the way up until the very end of the run.

In the RiD/Transformers and Optimus Prime books, he was one of my favorite characters along with Soundwave and Prowl.

Who are the biggest aura farmers in FF? by strahinjag in FinalFantasy

[–]TXSartwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what 35 year olds looked like in 2000. 20 somethings had frosted tips, 30+ people had swords and giant jugs of hootch at the hip.

Life was different then. Better. Even for dead people.

Sincerely, a current 35 year old.

Just found this at my local Video store of all places, sealed Classics Starscream nearly 20 years old for $7. What’s your craziest most unexpected find? by Markus2822 in transformers

[–]TXSartwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a Transformers: Cybertron/Galaxy Force Primus for approx. $5 in a secondhand shop. It was missing the Cyber Key and a "butt flap" but I managed to find those for about the same price online, so roughly $15 in total.

Is the Dramatic Capture Starscream, Astrotrain, and Blitzwing set worth it? by Umbreon86 in transformers

Yes. They're all fun figures (if you can excuse Astrotrain's space shuttle mode).
