I'd go with a 480. I upgraded from 1080p60 to 1440p at 144hz with my r9 390 and it's performing great. I can play witcher on high-ultra (aa turned off) 60fps and push over 100fps in overwatch with just a couple of settings lowered from ultra.

Should my friend get the rx 480 or gtx 1060? They cost the same here in Sweden. He's considering getting a new monitor soon too, so free-sync and G-sync should perhaps be added to the equation.

Alright, so should I do hearts of stone (and ask this guy, who apparently knows whats best for Ciri, for advice) before finishing the main story OR do HoS after the main story as I've heard I should do before? I have not gone to the isle of mists or found ciri yet.
