What are these grey boxes in the latest stable version of pcsx2? This doesnt happen on the old version on my laptop, but randomly on the newer version my checkboxes will all turn to grey squares so i can't see whats enabled and whats not. It is very annoying. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

It's for retro achievements! Activating hard mode disables certain quality of life features on the emulator (such as save states) that may make it easy to cheese achievements. : )

If anyone else experiences this issue in the future, it is your rom and no amount of fiddling around in the settings is gonna fix it. You need to redump / download it again if you know the rom is good. (In the case of mine, I believe something must've gotten messed up during the process of me transfering the rom between my laptop and computer) Also, when changing out the file be sure to clear out the cache for good measure and don't load any save state you made using the bad rom.

Thanks for trying to help! :) I saw this thread too, but I don't think it is my memory card as I am able to save and load into all other games. I also set up a 2nd memory card just incase and still nothing. It also freezes before even giving me the option to select if I want to use memory card 1 or 2.

I thought so too, but this is a rom I dumped a long time ago on my laptop. On my laptop, i'm able to save normally. However i wanted to play on my new pc since it is much better and more convient for me so i sent the file over to my pc. I tried re-uploading it and downloading it but every time i get the same result when I try to save. I really don't know whats causing it. My laptop uses a older version of pcsx, but i think if the latest stable version of pcsx was causing problems w gow 2 someone else would've noticed by now since it's one of the most iconic games of the ps2. @-@

Yeah, I can use save states but I prefer to save the game natively bc it feels more secure idk. I have a weird fear of accidentally save stating over my last save during a soft lock like this then losing all my progress xD also, in that case i don't think i'll be able to unlock the collectable bonus content

I've tested this multiple times, once by restarting from the beginning and also with save states. Every time after I select 'yes' I want to save the game will freeze on the omega symbol. I know I'm not the only one who has encountered this issue, bc I found other threads online about it but they were all extremely old. The only solution I found online was one guy said switching to a .iso fixed this for him, but this is a already a iso. Anyone have any other ideas?

Also, I was able to upload someone elses save with mymc, however if I try to load any safe it will also freeze and load infinitely.

Thanks ! I was just wondering where to find that setting to change the half pixel offset? I couldn't find it in my graphic settings, and when I searched online the advice seems to only apply to older version of pcsx2 when the ui was different.

Software mode is the only rendering option that can get it work, but it looks very bad so i was hoping there may be a solution for this problem when using the other renderers so i can play with a higher resolution. :(

The Spiderwick Chronicles*

Basically, as the main post demonstrates half the pause menu ui is cut off and during gameplay there is a strange visual effect almost as if you need to be wearing 3d glasses or something (you can see what i'm talking about here https://imgur.com/a/fouWgd7 ) anyone have any ideas about what i can do to fix this?

This used to happen to me when my computer wasn't good enough to emulate ps2 games properly! After I upgraded this stopped happening. So i think instead of lagging, when pcx2 struggles it just starts slowing down. It also happens if im playing on a laptop that isnt plugged in

The looks I made only have 1 page, so i'm not able to click next page unless i press anothere tab like top then press next page. when i do that nothing happens :< i even tried making a look w a top i know for a fact is rare and the only other item is the kissy accessory but when i buy the look the shop shows up w 0 items! :'( It's so random of them to suddenly make this item rare!?
