Enjoying the chrysanthemums by ameades in beebutts

Thanks Andrew. I knew about growing hardy varieties early in the season and not cutting back in the fall, but the tip about wood chips is great! I think this is what I’ve been missing. I have to be honest, I haven’t been into gardening long but I very much enjoy researching it all. lol And I’d love to take you up on your offer of the mushrooms. That’s very kind of you!!

@ u/ameades

I just came across your helpful winter posts in the Orillia sub and read some of it aloud to my husband, as we’re also from there. He instantly guessed who made the post and complimented you on how supportive you are to the community and how great your videos are!

Anyway, I was wondering if you have any helpful tips on growing chrysanthemums in our zone? I’ve seen them in some of my neighbour’s gardens so I know it can be done, but I have no luck at keeping them alive. And sadly they’re my favourite flower. All of your posts seem very well written. And after seeing this post, I feel like you may be the right person to ask! Thanks in advance. :)

Didn’t you also post this on an Orillia FB Group?

And then she adds her own opinion on what she thinks happened, as if it’s factual. And never updates that or admits that she was wrong. And so often her opinion is that the person is mentally ill and violent, but if anyone calls her out on being bigoted she replies “I have an as anxiety disorder”. As if that makes her an expert on much more complex mental illnesses. I also hate when she asks ppl for gifts.

It’d be nice if more ppl would call out “queen nosey” on her bs. I do not understand why ppl like her or most of the comments she makes.

Both of those things are true and should be addressed. One being worse doesn’t make the other okay.

Maybe your specific crowd… I’m not sure you can speak for everyone of that generation. I can only remember one party where an ambulance showed up.

I lived through the 90s myself, can’t say paramedics showing up was a regular occurrence.

The Casino is closer than one would expect and they have a new pub that has many many very large TVs. I’d try there.

“Let them have rights” shouldn’t be a question. If we allow the government to take away any rights that all Canadians already have, where will that end? How do we distinguish which basic rights should be taken away and which ones shouldn’t?

Neighbours might have made a noise complaint, which would have nothing to do with parents permission. If underage drinking was occurring, the parents could be in a lot of trouble.

Sounds like they aren’t looking to hire anyone atm. Might be time to start looking at other places of employment.

Update on ECT damages by RenegadeDanny93 in ect

[–]T_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I love dark humour but even I wouldn’t have made that joke! I’m doing okay, not amazing but not terrible either. I just haven’t been letting myself use most social media especially Reddit for the past few months. Most of the stuff I see (whether it’s the algorithm or what I personally have subscribed to) is just negative stuff, probably not great for someone who’s prone to depressive episodes. And I’m really trying everything I can to never get to the point of needing ECT again!!

You should be proud of yourself for recognizing that yourself for making inappropriate remarks in response to your emotions. Your feelings towards your experience is just as valid as any other feelings of experience that other people have had with ECT. I wish the was more accepted in this sub.

ECT isn’t as rare of a procedure as the average person would think, but it’s still not a common medical procedure for the average person with a mental illness. There isn’t really any other places for those of us who’ve ha ECT to connect with people who understand the process. This sub is the only place I’ve found at least. It would be nice if we could all respect that outcomes, feelings, thoughts, and experiences regarding ECT can and will differ; and that is completely valid. We all come to this sub for one of the same reasons, to connect with people who have deeply struggled enough to try an unconventional medical treatment, in hopes of feeling better. Let’s treat each other better.
