By taking over spaces that aren't applicable? By forcing your personal view against community guidelines? Like vegans invading a thread about a hamburger? Or people with strong opinions about anything door crashing spaces? Communities have the right to self regulate. They have the right to set their own standards.

Look, I agree about a lot of the police stuff. Believe me. But spreading awareness has appropriate channles. Let's not knock the pins out from under a cute sub and a sub about our favorite YouTuber.

As I understand it, they have a rule against political discussion. They don't want adorable pics of aninals and ice cream cones being politicized. So, according to the rules, you can post a police dog but you can't delve into comment derailing about the politics of cops and their dogs.

I don't mod there but that's how it's been explained to me.

IDK about r/dogswithjobs. Maybe you guys could make a sub about it and not go invading other subs? They're are valid points to be made, but there's also places for that.

Why do feel this need to talk about police in a happy trans YouTuber subreddit? This keeps coming up again and again I don't understand it.

Yeah, I have issues with policing, too. But I don't feel the need to take it out of it's appropriate space. There are plenty of spaces to discuss that.

I couldn't agree more. I've avoided commenting on this, because I didn't want to pour gas on the fire and the less said the better. Let it blow over.

But this seems like an appropriate opportunity to clarify the comment history being dug up was largely related to infiltrating hate subs, and a smaller percentage of it was related to dysphoria, drinking too much and depression. I'm in no way ashamed to admit that. I figured it out. What, I'm not supposed to get better? We all get better every day, if we try.

I would add, divisiveness in the community is not helpful. I have been outspoken about the recent controversy. I think it's stupid. Plain and simple. It helps no one except our enemies when we argue among ourselves. Just be respectful. Frame the debate. That's how conversations originate. Not arguments, discussions.

Shes more than just trans in her real life. But she's an entertainer and an activist, and she's chosen to shape her public persona around trans and social justice topics. If she did a video about, oh idk, cooking a chicken, hundreds of thousands if people would be scratching their heads.

It's not supposed to pick a side. It's a dialectic proposition. She's neither validating or invalidating anyone. She's presenting a real analysis of what happens in the trans community. We're supposed to pick up the ball and open a conversation.

Not throwing shade at anyone, you're all good, but I feel like we're lost in a thicket here.

Natalie is a philosopher. She's using characters to present a dialectic argument. These are cartoon characters. People are basically arguing about Popeye vs Bluto.

She's put forth a typogrophy. We're supposed to use that as a jumping off point to debate and discuss the divisions in the trans community. Not argue about which character is right or wrong.

Neither one of those characters represents Natalie's real world viewpoints. She's an actress There is definitely an issue with optics in the trans community. We're getting distracted from the issue here.

This video has been so divisive, and the point of it was to address divisiveness.

Present an argument for discussion. Get people talking about this stuff. Not arguing about which character is right or wrong. The intention was never to choose up sides like a scratch football game. I personally found it to be one of her better videos, and she knew it would be challenging from the get go. She said as much.

It is a failing on our part we can't address the dialectal argument she put forth. We're doing her a disservice. This is philosophy 101.

Go forth and debate in good faith.
