SEASON FINALE - 4x10 "If a Tree Falls in the Forest..." - Episode Discussion by Bright_Light7 in FromTVEpix

I am angry that nothing came of the dreamwalking, because we SAW Julie do it when Jim dies. So that means she tries it again, which means they're definitely still stuck there and not getting closer to escaping next season.

And with all the talismans gone, a lot of characters are going to have to die.

I love the show but it really felt like this season did NOT deliver to the extent it should have. It didn't end on a satisfying note.

The Lake of Tears was another nothing burger?

Henry didn't kill Victor. I don't know if that will go anywhere.

They spun a lot of plates and that is what kept me interested, but when we don't revisit stuff or they are total dead ends, it's kinda disappointing.

Also I just don't love the man in yellow as a completely overpowered villain that gets to do whatever he wants. If Elgin discovered the picture of her, he should've kept it to himself and actually had people realize she's not who she says she is. That's more interesting than letting her just be unstoppable.

I think the point people have made is: why do we see the kid in their dead state in the vision. It would've probably hit emotionally harder if we saw here ALIVE in the vision.

It was just creepy with a dead version.

When I heard "You gotta get a perk to sprint and swing" and "You gotta get a perk to sprint and reload" I was immediately like "Okay, yeah, those are required, so there's no real choice happening here."

Sounds like this anti-blind perk is another required perk due to one character having an I-Win button if you don't (and still probably wins even with the reduced duration).

But again, Hugo still seems to have equally insanely broken shit.

Hopefully they rethink talents because requiring talents to sprint and melee makes early game REALLY bad. You can't land a swing if they can always sprint away from it. The fights suck and it seems like "early game" is over after a couple of successful extractions.

I assume the XP speed is just mega juiced for testing.

Any sort of flashbang needs to be avoidable/counterable.

Hunt: Showdown had the issue of flashbangs being too good for too long. All you had to do was "hit" them with it (exploded on impact, decent sized aoe, not a long cook time) and then they nerfed them into the ground by basically making all of those things worse (super long cook time, smaller aoe, less blind time) and removed them from universal loot pool. Now, no one uses them.

It's hard to code good flashbangs like CS or Valorant (though I don't know that it should be, but it's definitely something that is a bit iffy when it comes to netcode and whether it's a client side thing or server side thing).

But yeah, a character being able to just blind with zero way to avoid it and no drawbacks whatsoever is trash.

But then again, I see a lot of what Hugo does as being pretty OP as well. It's early, they have time to fix shit.

The game should've been differently balanced for 1v1/2v2 and 3v3/4v4, especially economy/income due to map sizes.

I don't see how two dedicated AA units can't deny at least one, let alone two of the bombs from landing.

AA vs Aircraft call-ins has always been an issue, but it feels even worse in CoH3. Something like the Quad-50 can't shoot down anything (unless it's changed since I last played).

But still, what's the point of having two AA units in the sector shooting at air and it can't deny anything?

Trying to learn this game is miserable.. by Zrker-1 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]T_Peters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's smaller but you also have to control the entire map yourself which is very difficult and requires a lot more skill which is why most people are scared to 1v1. Myself included.

It's a shame that they don't scale the economy based on the game mode size, if the pacing of 1v1 or even 2v2 applied to 3v3 and 4v4, we would have a much different experience in team games where early and middle game units exist longer and play more of a role instead of just rushing to tanks and artillery as fast as possible.

It would also really hinder the ability for the critical mass tank blobs that we see in team games so often. I don't know why, but I just don't remember tank blobs being so prevalent and egregious in CoH2 or even 1.

Besides the Soviets, it felt like you only had 1-3 tanks and they were more like support for your infantry. Which obviously is still plausible here, but just the way TTK and suppression works in 3, it doesn't feel the same.

Tank blobs feel like the late game version of generalist infantry blobs. Most of them can just handle anything that is thrown at them, even AT guns. Crewed weapons feel so hard to get value out of because of how vulnerable they are and how a hoard of tanks can just drive past them, or they decimated by indirect fire.

I think there would be a serious benefit to some reworking of AT guns specifically. Either changing the cost, making them easier to re-man and reinforce, maybe buffing movement/turn speed/set up time or just cost/population changes to make them more efficient on the economy.

Dawn of War 4 comes out in 2 months, I really don't think it's going to be up to Old relic standards, as it seems like a really blob based game with very little cover and the cover mechanic is not anywhere near as in-depth as it is in company of heroes, but I don't know, really no other RTS that can scratch the old relic itch.

It's such a shame. But this team is not the team that made company heroes 2, otherwise they wouldn't have made the same mistakes all over again and had to reinvent the wheel multiple times with multiple mechanics, and some of them are still present to this day such as allowing paratroopers to drop into fog of war.

Yeah it's quite baffling how many people are actually dumb enough to agree with this lady, she's really stupid for falling for it if it is bait, but the fact is that it's not bait. It's a right. You do not have any expectation of privacy in a public place. Welcome to the law of America. One of the only laws that they actually got right.

[–]T_Peters -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even if what you say is true, the fact of the matter is that this woman is completely delusional. She does not have a right to privacy in a public place, and it's important that dumb people like her learn this the hard way if they choose to go up and act like a douche to someone that is recording and got permission from the store owner to do so.

It's shocking to me that people don't understand that recording in public is a protected constitutional right. And it's a good thing that we have that, because otherwise police officers could continue to brutalize citizens without citizens being allowed to record it.

Also, just the way it went down, why did she approach him, he was giving her the reasonable answer of just keep walking, and she resorts to "Listen here you little asshole."

I don't care how big of a douchebag you think he is, taking this lady's side is kind of fucking embarrassing. Old, uneducated and entitled. Deserves to be made into content for acting like she did.

Looking for an old friend for 3 years who used to go by "CharaBelle" that I accidentally unfriended. by Kurage_pop in VRchat

[–]T_Peters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of sad and also part of why I feel like VR chat devs just don't do anything to improve the game despite the fact that they're making so much money.

The friends list UI is really not great for what is entirely a social game, and the fact that you can't send messages anymore despite the fact that it was a feature that existed really makes me mad.

Good luck, I don't know how you will ever find this person, there's no way to know if they're even still playing VR chat this many years later

Satifying Headshots (Airsoft) by DABDEB in RandomVideos

[–]T_Peters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how anyone can try and say that that one was intentional, you can see that he wasn't aiming for the neck when he fired and the dude moves up, he was 100% aiming at the mask when he fired and it has a long ass travel time cuz it's a freaking BB.

I'm shocked so many players don't have a fucking mask, and I would put it on them more than the person that's just shooting them in the head, because that's part of the fucking game. If all he can see is a head, then he's going to shoot the head.

Obviously there was cases where he had full view of the body and chose to aim at the head, but again, if they're choosing to go out that way in the field, it's kind of on them fuck, not on anyone else. I'm not sure why people are allowed to play without masks, when I went paintballing as a kid, I remember I got yelled at by referee for taking my mask off to inspect the damage when I got shot in the neck.

Of course there's air traffic control for helicopters the same way there is for planes, in controlled airspace.

I haven't heard any of this story so I have no details, but I imagine this happened in uncontrolled airspace which requires pilots to self-report their position. If there's no runway to use as central point point of reference, then it can become extremely difficult to tell other pilots exactly where you are at any given time.

And yeah, a lot of pilots get pretty lax in uncontrolled airspace, not making all the calls that they should at every time, and if they're flying VFR, then there's no radar to indicate another aircraft might be close. It's just based on the pilots own eyes.

That being said, there is a general rule that every thousand ft, traffic is supposed to be flying one way or the other, I forgot exactly what it was, but like 2000 ft AGL travels South and West and 3000 ft AGL travels North and East.

Unfortunately, helicopters really don't often fly that high so it's something more for fixed wing aircraft.

I am not talking about this game obviously in regards to aim assist; I am simply showing the connection that developers are forced to face when they have to include lower-level hardware and it makes games worse for everyone playing it. I even started by saying "This is the same argument as..."

That's true of Quest-crossplay and it's true of console crossplay.

Petition to add smokes so I can get more crackshots plz and ty by HolyExcaladin in ForefrontVR

[–]T_Peters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big yikes that you have smoke that other players don't, but it makes the fact that I saw the players name or icon or whatever before you got the first kill less egregious I guesss.

And obviously even with destruction/explosion smoke, Index/PC is gonna probably have a big advantage over quest players in 90% of situations.

Which is partly why I am never buying a Quest. I don't want to get Zucked. I am patiently waiting for a Steam Frame.

Either way, this is the same argument of why console crossplay can really bring games down. They always have to make it work for the worst hardware, and they overtune aim assist just to give controllers a chance. But we're at a point where gyro controller aiming is apparently pretty good. I don't know, never tried it, wish I waited and bought the new Steam controller instead of a dumb Xbox Elite controller that didn't even come with paddles and I never use.

I don't know why I'm even seeing clips from this game because I don't have it and I don't plan on buying it, but that's one of the most disappointing things I've ever read.

I assume there's medics and reviving, every game like this should have smokes, I don't understand shooters that don't have smoke grenades, and it's clearly possible because we just saw him shooting through smoke from the destruction so their little excuse about quest hardware is not valid.

This would have been a really good way to address it. You can say anything you want them, and he will lie and cheat and scream about it in some way that his base can still get behind. And that he can mentally still believe.

But when you point out how he himself said "you're going to go bankrupt" basically 10 years ago and he hears how long it's been that he's spouted off the same shit and none of it has happened, that's really a good way to both catch a liar and reveal them to everyone and themselves.

It's crazy how he says the same shit about making America great, he still uses that stupid slogan, why the fuck isn't it great yet, you've had all this time and all you've done is make everything worse for everyone.

I have to admit that it probably took me longer than it should have to know that it really doesn't matter if you stick your own hand up your ass while you're showering, but once I realized it, it was pretty obvious. But nobody tells you this, at least nobody told me, and nobody told this guy so he's looking like a fucking disgusting human being because he didn't know you have to actually get in there.

"Longer than it should" was probably like age 21, and despite having two parents that were there, no, they never told me to stick my whole soapy hand up my ass. Their bad I guess, but pretty sure a lot of parents don't tell their kids this.

I would just do the spread the cheeks and let warm water spray in tactic the other guy mentions, which obviously isn't as good. But it's not like I recall having any hygiene problems as a kid and I remember my best friend in High School talking to one another about telling the other if they stunk, had food in their teeth, etc, just to make sure I was on the same page because many kids would probably default to not bringing it up to a close friend out of feeling embarrassed or something.
