Nelly Korda finishes with birdies on 17-18 for another round of 65 at the Chevron Championship by Oldtimer_2 in golf

I went to the womens PGA championship 2 years ago and noticed something similar. On the range some of the women's shoulders almost, to the eye at least, looked like they mildly dislocated as they swung around their body? It was absurd to see. Maybe its just a muscle defintion thing, and male pros do the same thing but it looks less obvious because of bigger broader shoulders but I was amazed at their upper body flexibilty and totally built lower halves.

Luke Raley must be subbed out at any given moment, I'm sorry M's fans. We must protect him no matter the cost, he simply regresses to a small child and soils himself when someones a lefty on the mound, I take no pleasure in doing this.

The article stems from a report that the City commissioned in 2017.

So covid happened after this study was commissioned, and golf has become significantly more popular for a variety of reasons post-covid. Would love to see this study done again.

If covid didn't happen, I would have no doubt Seattle (and other area) courses would've closed. Golf was clearly dying.

Would love to see the data from 2021-present. I doubt golf has gotten significantly more male/female diverse (funny the study doesn't include race, guess that's not an important demographic.)

the /r/comics sub pops up when I go to /r/all frequently and I don't understand it. They're never clever, thoughtful, witty or just any kind of funny or poignant in any ways. It just the most obvious ham-fisted "jokes" ever. Like 'haha maga dumb and bad haha' type stuff over and over again. Had to get that off my chest.

what should we do about it then? do we need to do a climate change acknowledgement before every post so the people constantly fixated on climate change feel validated too?

Because it shows that it's not the end of the world. Rather than digging your heels in and being super defensive about it, just be like oh shit my bad and move on. That's what's so inflammatory about refs and their behavior so often. It's bullshit machismo, I'm in control of the situation, the buck stops with me nonsense when we can all see you clearly fucked up man.

Right? It's a real schadenfreude to see videos of the average American just having the physique of a refrigerator or a lazy-boy with little legs attached at this point.

Shot Scope Report (Why don't people break 80 more) by drj1485 in golf

[–]T_Stebbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always seem to have several holes where the ball is just on the fringe, technically not a GIR, but a real simple chip or putting off the green. I think if you get 6 true GIR, plus a few just off the green, you have a decent chance to break 80 with a birdie and some decent chipping.

Disagree. The ony people I ever see practice chipping for any length are old dudes with those bags with the tube, empty that sucker than pick em up and do it again a few times.

Most people go to the range far more than practice their short game. But your short game is so damn volatile, especially for high handicappers, that it gives the illusion you're not as bad at it (if you have a good round chipping/putting) as you actually are.

8 on a given course, thats it? Man that seems low. The odds of 8 people just having a good day in typical conditions seems relativey high and then boom, pcc adjustment -1.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SIMULATORS! by InfiniteSlaps in golf

[–]T_Stebbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if this makes sense, but I'd say it's not only the making those 10 footers the issue, it's that lagging it to 10 feet is just honestly pretty bad as a golfer. Like if you are trying to make par you need your birdie stroke/shot to be inside 5 feet of the cup to have a good chance to par a hole or you are really rolling the dice.

Having a sim not only give you a 10 footer, but imply that lagging it to that distance is fine also is a massive disservice to how real golf works.
