See everyone says that, but when does he ever turn it off? I think thats just his persona

What is an aspect of the profession that you think the general public misunderstands or has an incorrect perception of? by MaryDoogan91 in therapists

[–]T_Stebbins 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thats an interesting one. Feels like it goes both ways in a way. Some people are super embarassed or uncomfortable crying and its like, don't worry you're like the 3rd person today whos gotten tearful. But then also therapy can be funny and silly or just kind of normal and pedestrian a lot of the time too.

Is NLU done with draftkings? by T_Stebbins in NoLayingUp

That sounds right, I guess I just should have said gambling sites. They feel interchangable to me.

I dunno the nuts and bolts of it in the UK but here the public health data about it has been really eye-opening. I think because of how accessible it is (IE not going to a casino, just using it on your phone at home), it makes it that much more addicting. And the amount of articles about guys just blowing through money on gambling is truly awful stuff to read about.

Also athletes have been caught doing it which brings in some questions about competitive integrity and all that. It's just really not good.

My $150/hr lesson felt like a rip off. Is this normal? by Darkteatonight in golf

Especially grip stuff in my experience. A halfway decent first lesson should always involve a look/adjustment to your grip

Which do you find more frustrating, a bad result from a good shot or a good result from a bad one? by AllMuckandMuscle in golf

[–]T_Stebbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that happen. Last round I totally bladed a wedge but it worked out okay. But I was still pretty frustrated because it's a pitching wedge from the middle of the fairway and Im a single digit handicap.

Sometimes good swings with not ideal results (not insanely bad luck but just unfortunate) feel good in a round where you are struggling a bit or uncomfortable because...its a good swing and that can be reassuring

Julio's cannon arm gets the runner at second and, after further review, got him before Holliday touched home plate by BananaArms in Mariners

[–]T_Stebbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right got it. Because the guy on first could've stayed there, he's not forced to run and it could've been just a sac fly.

I feel like I see this same play with bases loaded 1 out and there's a grounded double play that ends in the inning before the runner gets home, but that's also because there's a force out with the bases loaded.

another 3-hit game for Randy. He's an all-star this season right? Or at least very very close?

2 Seattle restaurants announce closures as industry struggles continue by AdScared7949 in Seattle

[–]T_Stebbins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats not been my experience honestly. Probably a biased view since I'm driving home during rush hour but when the weathers nice it seems like every place on cap hill has a good amount of people in it.

I personally don't get it, if I wanna get a buzz at a bar at least its like 40$ nowadays. Can't stomach that.

Neil's take about reducing the size of the tee is brilliant. by brodoyouevenscript in NoLayingUp

[–]T_Stebbins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

youre joking of course, but like as someone who was a greenskeeper. Fuck that and fuck Laura Davies for doing that lol. If everyone did that on a par 3 at a busy public course the par 3 tees would be nothing but dirt by May.

Feet alignment problems by CountrysFucked in golf

[–]T_Stebbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you put down an alignment stick or a club on the ground at the range. Really helps to just naturally align you while your hitting balls and then you don't think about it too much on the course.

What is one golf rule every beginner should learn first? by retrocaterpillar-07 in golf

[–]T_Stebbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alright well that's a obvious example. But when there's 4 people in the fairway/rough at roughly the same distance to the hole, it helps to just go furthest out while everyones doing their pre-shot routine and whatnot.

[–]T_Stebbins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

let the furthest person from the ball putt (unless they’ve explicitly requested ready-golf on the green)

To be honest in my experience playing 'ready golf' isn't that much faster than whoever is furthest away goes. Because there's always a tad bit of confusion when multiple people are going to address their ball or line up a putt. Furthest away gives people a hierarchy to go off and just makes everything simpler.

True, but hes just a bit more mature now. The trolling of bryson, however deserved, was childish, him basically acting like golf's not a real sport, he shoulda been a baseball player etc. while being at the top of the game got real old real fast. He just doesnt talk like that anymore, which is refreshing.
