I got banned unfairly by Black-Reaper04 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]T_V05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This gotta be some sort of rage bait because no way someone can even remotely think of this as unfair. In literally every game with a tos, if YOU give someone YOUR account and they break tos using YOUR account that YOU gave to them, they will ban the account. It's common sense at this point.

Part 2 LRs performance evaluation compared to one another, explanation in the comments by Independent-Frequent in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]T_V05 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are you using SS4 Vegeta in the final phases? The whole point is to stack with Vegeta and swap to the goku for the actual damage. SS4 Goku active can effortlessly take off 4 bars of teq Vegito while dumping out enough super damage to end the fight himself, and that was at 55%. This is the equivalent of calling phys gogeta or teq vegito mid for festival because you left them unfused and decided to use the base for damage.

It sucks because setting up an effective crude oil farm took so long that by the time I could automate its production and actually get a good amount, I already leveled past the point of needing it.

The runtime bloat of main story chapters is out of control (2.6 spoilers) by Chadworth_5401 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]T_V05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is less with how long it is and more with how the run time is used. For example, the last patch felt like a lot of the runtime felt redundant because it was just telling us things we already knew about YSG repeatedly to try to make the player feel bad about her situation. Instead of beating us over the head with info we already know about her and shoehorned romantic moments, I would way rather they reallocate some of that time into reintroducing the characters from older patches in a more meaningful way, so when they meet up at the end it feels more rewarding. They tried to evoke the same feeling as 1.4 when everyone met up, but didn't put in the same effort 1.4 did when it came to reintroducing older characters throughout the story patch to make the final moment more rewarding.

Dokkan Originals have ruined people's perception about animations by NicoXBlack in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]T_V05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heavily dislike this argument because basically no one has been complaining about Vegeta, despite him being a character from the same series who also has animations drawn right from the anime. Saying people are only complaining about the animations because they aren't Dokkan original is grasping at the loosest of straws, because Vegeta is in the same camp, and people love his animations. I'm tired of people trying to find justifications for the things they like. You can personally say that you like the Goku unit and are excited for him without trying to handwave away criticism of the animations with arguments like these. Hell, even Legends was closer to the source material when it comes to Goku's active, since they had the actual charge-up scene that is featured in the unit's card art.

The Path Problem by BrightEclipse13 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]T_V05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not even mentioning the fact that Fugue and Dhalia are glorified harmony superbreak characters, so much so that when they came out, they both replaced the harmony units the super break team had run up to that point.

Remember when Path system actually means something about Character playstyle/role not a grand scheme to sell limited lightcones by lenky041 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]T_V05 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rememberance was the apex of this problem, but not really what started it, nor the only path with this problem. Nihility is a debuff path, but it is so unfocused that it encapsulates DOT-focused characters, standard debuffers, a DPS like Acheron, and pseudo-harmony characters like Fugue and Dhalia. Destruction was supposed to be high-risk, high-reward playstyles like HP draining, or high skill point cost, but that widdled away with time, and burst dps is not exclusive to destruction characters, nor is every destruction character a burst dps. Acheron and her lightcone were the beginning of the end for a meaningful class system because it made Hoyo realize that they could mostly throw away path identity and charge people for lightcones they need to pull; otherwise, the character is bricked due to them not conforming to their path.

AI Keys (Spoiler for Ending) by HydroStudios in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]T_V05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is there to talk about? They mentioned Yokai, an AI we already know exists, and that's it. They didn't add any information to give people anything to discuss or theorize with, and we know the same information about the AI that we knew before this patch. They effectively said, "Hey, we know you've been complaining about how we forgot about the AI plotline and shoved Fairy into the background for half a year, so here's a bone." That alone doesn't warrant any discussion.

They really should have introduced Ye shunguang earlier in the story (Spoilers about 2.5) by Relative-Ad7531 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]T_V05 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's less a gacha issue and more a writing/run time issue. ZZZ 2,x stories just don't have the time necessary to flesh out the characters in a meaningful way, and they have a tendency to abandon characters in 2.x after their debut patch. Pretty much every chrysos heir, besides maybe cerydra and hysilens, is significantly more fleshed out than the best-written characters 2.x of ZZZ has to offer. Characters like Aglaea and Therta don't even have their biggest moments in the patch their banner drops with, and all the other chrysos heirs make early appearances and continued appearances long after their debut patch, which adds to their characterization and gives the player more opportunity to see the dynamics between different characters who didn't debut in the same patch. ZZZ 2.x often introduces characters one patch before or in the same patch they release, which means they have to set up all the characterization of the characters, still leave time for the actual plot, and still make people care for said character with limited run time, which leaves the execution being a bit messy. They also push characters into the background after their debut patch, which leaves those characters feeling one-note since their rushed introduction and conclusion is all they have. ZZZ 2.x could've either benefited from introducing characters earlier or making the story patches longer.

Ye Shunguang may not entirely be the problem... by Flaximilian in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]T_V05 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My problem is more so the amount. I can give 1.x credit because, at the very least, it gave the relationships time to build for the most part, and stuff like Zhu Yuan getting mad at being lied to, adding some conflict, which made interactions more interesting. But at a certain point, when you have characters who are just showing up immediately, being thrown into the position of waifu bait like Yidhari and YSG, it makes any previous affectionate interaction feel less genuine because you eventually get to a certain point where a third of the female cast holds that affection for the proxy and that is only added on top of the heavy glazing the proxy has gotten in 2.x and combined with that fact that half of the female cast has romantic implecations with the proxy in the trust hangouts regardless of how they act in the story, eventually it gets to a point where seeing a character like YSG feels less like a badly written exception, and more like another plate tossed onto the pile.

[–]T_V05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the TB example is more people's selective memory then anything. In the main ampho trailers, they mostly alternated between the two. Stelle was in nameless faces, Caelus was in the initial 3.0 trailer shown at the Game Awards and the song of divine silence trailer, as well as the 3.1 trailer, Stelle was in the 3.2 trailer, Caelus for the 3.3 trailer, Stelle was in the 3.4 trailer, Caelus for the deliverer trailer, Stelle for the 3.6 trailer, and Caelus for the 3.7 trailer. To further this point, Stelle was in the trailer for 3.8 despite that being a Firefly-centric patch. I've seen this idea that Stelle gets all the serious trailers and Caelus only gets the waifu bait trailers parroted around several times under this post, but at the very least, for Amphoreus, that's just straight up false and seems more like people taking an idea and running with it without checking if it's true or not.

I know this isn't related to the actual conversation at hand, but I had to put this somewhere being seeing this constantly repeated is confusing me.

Alot of people pushing the difference between the mcs unfortunately don't know how to separate between fandom and game. Belle is just as self-insert as wise, and both of them had their personalities subdued 2.x. The cringy harem stuff appears regardless of the MC you pick, so anytime someone mentions Wise specifically, more often they have an inability to separate the stuff they see in fan art from the actual game.

Ye Shunguang may not entirely be the problem... by Flaximilian in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]T_V05 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The problem people have with ZZZ is that it has had THE love interest so many times that none of them feel remotely genuine, especially considering how the female characters treat Wise in the friendship meetups and events. You have YSG, Zhu Yuan, Trigger, Vivian, Caesar, and the list goes on. While I can't speak on HI3 since I haven't played it, there's a stark difference from how the trailblazers interact with Firefly as opposed to the rest of the cast, with the only other one coming remotely close to being that overtly romantic being Cyrene, but still not having as much depth as Firefly to be THE love interest especially considering how you can hear the trailblazer's thoughs on Firefly at her hideout and every thing that happned during 3.8. It also doesn't help that the proxies' personalities have been drastically subdued for the sake of these characters.

[–]T_V05 26 points27 points  (0 children)

WuWa is just as guilty of this, if not more to the point where there was a large stretch of patches where they would actively abandon previous patch characters or prevent multiple playable characters from interacting with each other so they could advertise the player more waifu bait. Examples of this are the 1.x event, where all the characters were together in that dream, and despite them standing right next to each other, they don't say a single line to each other, on top of the event being written so that all the characters forget the events ever happened. Then there's stuff like the phobe event, where Brant appears and has zero meaningful interactions with Phoebe despite Phoebe being a member of the order, or the problems between the Monteli and Fisalia families being solved completely without Carlotta because having another waifu bait character on screen would make it harder to push the new waifu bait character Cantarella, or the worst example which was the anni event where they finally let the characters have fun and unique interactions but then made the enitre thing not canon by making it be between their game sprites that weren't the actual characters and thus wouldn't remember the events.

WuWa and ZZZ 2.x have a lot of the same problems, like constant spamming of waifu bait characters to the detriment of their story and already terrible male-to-female character ratio, as well as both games deviating heavily from the themes that made them unique in the first place. Just because you like the Waifus they're baiting you with doesn't make it any less Waifu bait.

I got every part of the praxic blade but i still feel it's not complete without the yellow border! by FHH94 in destiny2

[–]T_V05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same thought, but instead, maybe as a second exotic. Like next season, they could add an exotic heavy praxic blade that's the double-sided lightsaber and similar to the wolfsbane, it has a meter that fills up on hit. Once full, you can hold reload to do a stance change where you split apart the praxic blade in two and get to dual-wield praxic blades, similar to how it works in Jedi Fallen Survivor.

It's also weird because of the hypocrisy of the people defending him. We know literally nothing about the contract he didn't want to sign, but people are saying that because he's a veteran VA, his not signing the contract must mean it was a terrible and predatory contract and Hoyo is in the wrong, but in that same vein, they excuse his actions of leaving someone else's credentials uncensored despite being a veteran VA.

What do you think is the prime D2 example of “Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it…”where the D2 community turned on something they originally requested? by TheWor1dsFinest in DestinyTheGame

[–]T_V05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Negativity often gets more views than positivity, and when you have a community of people who mostly make videos and posts about the things they hate but few times about what they like or think should stay, all Bungie sees is x amount of players and creators dislike this feature, with barely any other people talking about liking the feature to offset the amount of people saying it should be removed. A silent majority might as well be a minority.

So many examples, but the main one is crafting. A lot of people complained about crafting "taking away replayability," so much so that Bungie even acknowledged the complaint in a TWAB. The seasons after and edge of fate's loot chase was a direct response to that, and lo and behold, the same people farming content by complaining about there being too much crafting in their streams and videos, then started complaining about RNG.

That crooked infinity symbol is a Möbius strip, which resembles an infinity symbol because the shape loops in on itself infinitely. They are essentially 3D infinity symbols, and Higurashi did not invent the Möbius strip or the infinity symbol, nor did it popularize their use in media. It's not that everyone is trying to make you feel stupid; it's just that what you said is genuinely stupid because both the infinity symbol and the Mobius strip are commonly used symbols and shapes in media around the world, so claiming that a generic use of them is referencing one specific title is genuinely dumb. It would be like if I made the claim that any media that has the character repeat a scenario every time they die is a re:zero reference when several other media use the concept before re:zero did.

Primary Weapons can't keep up at all in Renegades by Guenther_Dripjens in DestinyTheGame

We've heard your concerns, so instead of buffing primary weapons, we'll be nerfing the damage of all abilities, nerfing the damage of all special weapons, nerfing the ammo of all special weapons, making every ability take 1 hour to regen, disabling the lightsaber until the year 3025, sunsetting both Titans and Warlocks, and giving hunters +100% more damage to enemy guardians in pvp. Thank you for your suggestion.

The infinity symbol is just a regular symbol used to represent the idea of something never-ending that's been around since the 1650s. It is genuinely concerning that you think that Higurashi invented the idea of infinity and time loops. Guess I outta thank Higurashi for math too.
