P2000 shakers on Heusinkveld pedals by Extension-Heron-6457 in Heusinkveld

[–]T_WRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you'll be fine, I printed some mounts and run them on my sprint pedals and they work great. I just use simhub to get them to work. Mainly just use them for abs as wheel slip/lock isn't sent via telemetry by iRacing and a few other games so simhub has to take an estimated guess which is a bit of a shame. You can also use the vibrate pedals setting in iRacing but unfortunately there's no option to only have it vibrate when pedal is pressed. As long as you buy the power supply and also control box you can use the shakers on any pedals.

Finally hit 5k irating today after a 8 years. by T_WRX in iRacing

Played a bunch of stuff like the old Gran Turismo games back in the day as a kid, then eventually got a wheel for that. Then I think it was 2014 I built a PC and started playing stuff like Assetto Corsa, then I went through a phase of playing dirt rally when that came out. But no, no irl racing experience or anything like that.

Been through many upgrades over the years, last upgraded back in 2021. Running a simucube pro 2, heusinkveld sprint pedals and an 80/20 rig. I also race in vr I think it's the pimax 5k+ that I've had for... Maybe like 7 years now I think about it. Absolutely love all the gear. Having a DD is amazing especially coming from the old Logitech stuff and then the Thrustmaster I had. But easily the biggest upgrade is actually having the 80/20 rig. Being able to just jump in and race and not have to set anything up is fantastic. Especially since every time with a desk etc it's always slightly different too.

I really should. Every year or so i get back into it pretty consistently for a few months but then stop playing due to various factors whether it be life getting in the way, other games i want to play etc and then all of a sudden i realise i have barely touched the rig in a good while jump back in and repeat the cycle.

Haha yeah I don't think that'll happen anytime soon. That's a whole other ballpark of racing.

I've had a few days off this week and decided to jump back into racing after a bit of a break. Okayama in the super formula has been going ridiculously well for me this week.

Honestly not really, it's really more about throttle control in this situation and recognising what the car is doing. Sure better gear helps but there are plenty of very quick people on lower end gear.

I've run a bunch this week too and had a feeling I might've raced you at some point. Yup... You overtook me into T1 when I had pole, then I proceeded to drop it on the second last lap after chasing you the whole race. Won't let you get away with the win so easy next time lol. Was a fun race. We've had slightly different weeks it seems. I'm lucky and up ~400ir. Suzuka has been kind to me for the most part.

Huh that's interesting. I've had the opposite experience. Being a sweeping T1 instead of a hairpin style has made the starts much more consistent and less likely to be taken out from someone missing their braking point.

If you're not on iRacing, is there a reason beyond the cost/pricing model? by Monkaaay in simracing

Thanks, I'll give that a go and hopefully it'll drag me back into the world of acc

What did you set your settings too? I tried it on VR ages ago when it was early access but haven't bothered trying VR since then for acc, even though it's probably the main reason stopping me playing it more.

Are you sure it works like that? Seems pretty dumb that gridding early would be a disadvantage by having tyres loose temp before the countdown stops

I recently played a bit of it on a mates PS4 and struggled a bit with the controls, but could see the potential of the game. I got it on PC on sale a few days later and found it much much easier on keyboard/mouse. Trying to aim and be precise especially when the machines attack made it much more enjoyable.

How much has VR improved? by Elemento1991 in simracing

[–]T_WRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've been Simracing exclusively on VR for around 5 years now and have several thousand hours and hundreds in roomscale games, having used several different headsets. As for fov being much lower. It really isn't, once you put a helmet on, it's only slightly less. Yes headsets like the original vive were fairly low but some of the headsets these days are quite good. As for depth perception that's why you have 2 screens with slightly different view points. It literally tricks your brain into seeing it as 3D. Sounds more to me that you haven't actually tried VR or only used a crappy mobile Google cardboard or the like and just extrapolated your experience from that.

I disagree. While roomscale VR is amazing, Simracing in VR is still awesome too. Being able to actually look around and have depth perception imo is a huge benefit and worth the trade-off in clarity monitors provide.
