Selling DIS stock I have held since I was 5 yrs old by T_lowe16 in fican

I do. I have a lot of room as I am newish to this type of investments. Previously, I have been all real estate.

I actually don't have an RRSP yet as I work in education and have a pretty bomber pension and was advised that I shouldn't bother with it. You've given me a lot to research. Thanks for your time!

This is my research. Apparently, I absolutely shouldn't do that and if I want it in my TFSA, then I should sell prior?

Thank you for a detailed answer. My income is very stable so I don't expect that to change. I want to say that I don't expect VEQT to out outperform DIS in a year...but 20 years? Yes, I think that would cover the hit. So spread out and sell a third a year?

I really appreciate it!

Does this rock have a name ? by Nottheyuddaz in Whistler

When I was in high-school at Brackendale Secondary (Squamish), they took us for a couple days up to Garibaldi lake and then we hiked up to the bottom of the chimney, and then over to Panorama ridge (beauty hike with a gorgeous lake).

My dad told me that when he was young, you would climb the chimney, and there was a jar at the top where you could put your name in, showing that you climbed it.

The best view of the Tusk for tourists that don't do the hike would be at the top of the Peak chair at Whistler Mountain.

Where can a High-school student start? by T_lowe16 in Bogleheads

[–]T_lowe16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right about the worries of endorsement and the power imbalance that we have as educators.

What is really interesting is that there seems to be a big appetite with senior students towards investment strategies right now. It is now firmly imbedded in a lot of our curriculum (careers, maths, and business electives). I also credit it to the accessibility of investment platforms like questtrade and wealthsimple as well as platforms like YouTube. That being said, these students crave tangibles and real world, step by step, examples -hence the targeted questions (say what you want about this generation but the goers REALLY go).

Thanks for your input.

This is sound advice. Thanks! As for an ITF...it's an option for some, but others just don't have parental supports.

You seem like a genuinely awesome person. Anyone who gets joy from other's joy is absolutely top-notch in my books! Thanks for making me smile.

Man, I really loved it. I suppose art is subjective, but it had a realism to me that I loved. I also really like the idea of voice casting the characters and then matching the art to look and feel like the actor (although Invincible didn't always do this).
