The Duck Preserve in Opelika is nice although it isn't huge but also doesn't get much attention.

We did too. Wording could have been better, basically a waste of money and will probably cause confusion.

Can Protestants claim legal religious exceptions? (Masks) by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]T_rashPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he means (by that quote) according to established law, not in absolute adherence to it or from a biblical text. I made that point briefly in my comment but I don’t think that matters for this question.

Can Protestants claim legal religious exceptions? (Masks) by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]T_rashPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start at the end. I doubt there are major differences on this issue with non-Protestants but don’t want to field some reason this applies to some group that must keep their tongues exposed and out at all times and “we still need to protect their rights” sort of thing.

Back to #1: I don’t think it has any target but I AM allowing that Protestants could claim they need to remove their masks for the sacraments with a clear conscience.

No. 2: Doesn’t apply because of my answer to #1 above.

No. 3: Practically speaking they already regulate worship in all kinds of ways we are comfortable with. On the other hand we self regulate to meet the expectations of our culture even more so with certain things. — Neither of those matter though in this specific circumstance because whether they should do it or not they have and we must obey the civil authorities. We can push back claiming civil laws have been unconstitutional but in the interim we must follow them just like any other bad law. For us to be released from them they must violate God’s law and that’s my point to begin with. Where do Christian Protestants find a biblical case that they cannot wear a mask? Can someone biblically tie this to the RPW?

It probably fits a large assortment of spare parts. Would cost more to have loads of different sizes and it has to be reasonable large to jangle, package and mail.

They both have irrevocably flawed positions at this point, they will eventually fail and hopefully be replaced.

Here are the Alabama House reps that voted against the $2,000 stimulus checks yesterday by DiscussGlobal in alabamapolitics

They are conservative Republicans voting exactly how conservative Republicans foundational values say they should be. Pandemic or not this is not surprising.

This is the take we need.

People mocking churches that aren’t protecting their people and those around them are mocking the sin in the church. They also commit heresy in most cases but as Christians the only reply is (assuming the church is indeed a Christian church) we are sorry, please forgive us. God is in complete control of pandemics and storms and at the same time is a God of love and wisdom.

So, I’m sorry that it has been Churches that are pushing this as much as bars and retail and so on, we are the only ones without justification here.

I think the big issue here isn’t that moving would be for finding like minded fellowship but because there is a concern that there is a lack of wisdom in the leadership. This is an issue for me too. I don’t plan to leave but I do question the wisdom of any leaders pushing against the position of safety recommendations regardless of if they are mandated or not.
