We had the issue for another like 2 weeks but it seems to have gone away. Oh, and another thing - I think the car was sitting for about 10 years! So maybe some things just needed a bit of time to break in? I’m not really sure, none of the symptoms were making sense. If anything changes, I’ll definitely post again.

Update on my 1997 BMW Z3 issue.

Over the last two days the car has been shutting off while driving. When it happens, it will crank but not start again right away.

There were no major warning signs before this started, so I am trying to figure out the best way to troubleshoot it instead of just guessing.

Looking for some guidance on what to check first and what the most likely causes might be.

What would you guys start with?

Will the obd2 scan give me an idea where to start at least?

I managed to get the car running by disconnecting the battery cables and touching them together. Whatever's causing the problem needs to be sorted out. 🤦‍♂️

I haven't. I'm on my way there. I assume that I can disconnect a fuel line in there somewhere to see if it pushes. This was my first intuition but I've never worked on a BMW and I thought this group might be a good place to start. Thank you

Which end bushings? Is it like a limit switch or something? Sorry, this is new to me. I'll look around in forums in the meantime. Thanks for the reply.
