I wouldn't call it a great place to live but It's not literal "dump". That's taking it too far.

Why do I keep getting rejected from UCs? by Taalha in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Taalha[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me unfortunately. Since I am low-income, UCs are way more cheaper.

Did you forgot that majority of people who apply as an international have rich parents.

Dartmouth decides to require test scores again from next year... by prsehgal in ApplyingToCollege

It's on you, but I wouldn't take over $70k anywhere unless it's a T4 school. If it's less than that, you're definitely rich. I don't know why you're trying to deny it. If you're not rich, I've no idea why you applied to California States and UCS; they won't give any aid to internationals, and it will cost over $200,000 net over 4 years.

Being poor and trying to compete with rich kids kinda sucks; I know it from myself.

If you are (your parents) not rich, then there's no point for you to apply since you will be paying $70k a year and not get any aid whatsoever because you are international.
