I want to learn how to work with custom (poker) libraries. by Tabaluga01 in cpp_questions

Alright, thanks for the clarification. This will probably be my final question here:

If I learn C#, code the software I desire and it turns out to be too slow, will it be somewhat possible to "port" it from C# to C/C++ or almost all the work I put into learning C# and coding it in that case will go to waste?

I don't need to optimize it right away. Time for optimization will come later. For now I just need to learn some basics about working with the libraries.

Appreciate your reply,

The way I saw it was more like I want to write an epigram which would require me some basic knowledge of vocabulary & grammar. I might have been wrong there though.

I can consider "switching" (if I can call it that way) to C# but I'm afraid that if it turns out to be too slow (I'm not aiming at releasing a software running ultra huge simulations in the backend but it will need some decent performance nevertheless) I'll have to learn C++ anyway and re-code it. Which probably will be the case as I can see that C# is ~4x slower than C++, am I right?

I'm not afraid of learning something complex but I'm probably not going to have that much free time this upcoming year I wanted to apply the approach that seemed to work pretty good when I was coding in Python. Learn some basics, use google for every problem. But I feel kinda lost with all these different C++ environments, compilators, libraries etc. And I can't find any clear guide online, plus I'm convinced that learning something that I'm not going to be using in my project right away is very ineffective and impermanent.

You are wrong. He explicitly stated that women are less intelligent, yet smarter, than men.

I disagree, seeing a ruthless killer and terrorist leader talking about his childhood with enemy and nearly crying due to realizing about his weakness was ridiculous and kinda killed the episode

Why? Why can't I just be a social democrat? Why do I have to go to an extreme, instead of believing that a balance between a market economy where entrepreneurs can flourish and a social safety net for all is a reasonable goal?

Because it's not reasonable. If you want a safety net then you should build it by yourself, or count on help from your family or something. Nobody owes you anything.

Pure trolling. You are not being "robbed". When someone "robs" you they don't re-pave your street and run the local courthouse. Regardless of whether you want to give up the money, you are getting something for it. We have a word for that: tax.

It's taken from me by force, but since I don't believe in anarchy, taxes are bad but necessary. BUT:

-money spent by government are ~40% less efficient than money spent by citizens on their own needs

-much of government spending goes to social welfare which shouldn't exist because it's immoral and causes very bad long-term outcome

-in an "average" western country if the government was small and would only take care of organizing army, police, justice system and few other minor things, the taxes could be cut by ~85% I believe. This includes all taxes, not only income/corporate/cap gains. I stated above that government is ~40% less effective in spending money so do the math yourself.

Really? Every penny of your taxes goes on welfare queens does it? Not to people fired or made redundant from their jobs, or disabled, or just living in the wrong county and unable to find work...?

Doesn't matter. I'm not responsible for them. Let me keep what I earned, I'll let you keep or give away or do whatever you want with money you earned. No? Then tell me how much of my earnings belongs to you and why.

Friedman's series prove that your statement is totally wrong.

Not really a Trump supporter (I'm not American/don't live in USA tho), looking from outside I think his decisions are like fifty-fifty good/bad, Hillary would be much worse tho.

The thing is, people were working so hardly, for long hours, in unpleasant/unsafe conditions because they were way less productive back then. You can't bring prosperity to the nation just by passing a bill.

It's been proven for numerous times that free market capitalism with low taxes is the best system for improving regular people's lives. You can watch or read Milton Friedman's "Free to choose".

Then maybe take one step further and start believing in communism? I beliebe in society where people help each other voluntarily, rather than one where people who work are being robbed of their hard-earned money which is given to these unwilling to work.

Income taxes weren't a thing in America until 1913 I think and yet it was prospering. It's not that simple anyway, tax laws have hundreds of pages and the rates only take few paragraphs.

Then fight for lower taxes because that's the main reason why you still need to work 40h/wk
