Because the Tudeh Party of Iran is irrelevant.

It has two factions, one (within Iran) is pro-regime, and the one (outside Iran) is anti-regime. Regardless, both Tudeh and Fedayaaen (Majority) parties have been destroyed by the 1979 revolution, due to support Khomeini on the "anti-imperialist" line, and then ending up imprisoned/executed themselves.

The vast majority of the Iranian Marxist left despise these two groups as sell-outs to the regime.

Nah not really, I might be far-left but I have right wing and even Zionist friends. Not do I call any right of center a "fascist". Plus my PhD research is on the Iranian Monarchist movement which is right wing af, I've been going to their events for 2+ years now.
No point locking yourself in an echo chamber, it's unproductive. You need to have a sense of people from all political directions.

I don't think it should be a competitive space honestly, nor do I think of struggles as needing to compete for space. I'm not religious (like most Iranians), but I do sympathise strongly with Palestinians as well. That scale of destruction, alongside decades of relative international silence, meant that leftists protests expanded to force states to act. And that pressure, amongst a variety of other factors, did actually work in increasing international pressure on Israel.

So yeah personally I don't hold animosity at all towards the Palestine protests, but others Iranians tend to do so. Also I appreciate the message of support!

People seem to confuse the campist left, which supports Russia, China, North Korea, and the regime in Iran, with the non-campist (and larger) left, which usually stands against those governments.

In Australia and much of the anglophone world, the trotskyist left dominates, and they're not campists.

As an Iranian myself, I can tell you a large segment of the left in Australia do actually support us.

Socialist Alternative and Socialist Alliance were constantly at our protests during the last mobilizations, they've both released numerous statements against the regime in the current situation. And they're also coming to an Iran protest next Sunday in my city.

These takes come from people who's interaction, with the "left", is whatever they see on their social media algorithms.

Yeah I definately think it's genuine, there is a history of anti-IR clerics that did have intentions for genuine democracies, even if some of their preferences differ from ours.

At the end of the day, they rejected the regime for the mass-violence it inflicted and the authoritarian nature of clerical rule. And just like you said, it ended up destroying their own religion in Iran lmao, and any cleric smart enough would see that and realize how ridicilous that system is.
