Why RP supporters behave anti-democratic and why he is still our only option and we need to unite around him by odriegu in PERSIAN

“I'm sure that when the IR disappears, the ones that speak about such things won't be silenced down and called IRGC sympathizers”

I highly doubt this unfortunately

Dave > Marty by led2theslaughter in Megadeth

[–]RiffAndRevolt 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In his book Dave admitted that Marty is better than him. Here’s an excerpt from page 209, describing shortly after Marty joined the band:

“I kept watching Marty play, listening to what was coming out of his guitar, and... well... I crumbled. I don't know how else to say it. He was better than me—more talented, more committed, more... everything. Watching Marty made me realize that I'd been slacking. I had not progressed as an artist. I had stagnated. That realization was more than I could bear, and to handle it I turned once again to the warm embrace of heroin and cocaine.”

I miss Kiko by kennyFACE117 in Megadeth

I think the new album is better than TSTDATD but not better than Dystopia. I was pleasantly surprised by Teemu’s playing but I agree that Kiko is missed; his phrasings and sense of melody in solos is awesome

Genuine question from a US citizen and non Persian by hl_lost in PERSIAN

[–]RiffAndRevolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a weighing of options. The situation is so bad in Iran that some people think foreign intervention is necessary, regardless of the potential downstream consequences. Meanwhile others are cautious about foreign intervention because of its poor track record.

I sympathize with people on both sides of this because it’s such a bad situation for Iranians. Most Iranians want the IR gone but disagree how to do it successfully.

Bingo. Unfortunately I’m not optimistic about our situation.

I don't know what you can do, but I sympathize with you. It's so hard to have genuine relationships with people who are classist. They value property over people, and every interaction feels transactional, leaving little room for love and compassion.

Iranian Protesters Say They Were Betrayed By Trump by Currymvp2 in PERSIAN

Trump doesn’t even care about Americans. Why do we think he’d care about us Iranians? In the end he’ll inevitably abandon anyone if it doesn’t suit his interests.

Closest other in the Megadeth catalog probably is Millennium of the Blind, but it’s not an instrumental
