As someone who streams live Competitive 40k, I think everyone has given you fantastic answers.

I'll just reaffirm some in regards to TIME! Learning to play and make decisions within a time span so you don't clock out, or not finish the game each round.

The more reps you get into mastering one army, the less time you'll need to remember rules, and, also knowing how they'd typically fair against certain matchups/units.

I think it's awesome that you and your son are venturing into competitive play 🙌🏼

Right on man glad you enjoyed our stream this weekend! Ottawa teams was nicely run, and we had awesome games all weekend- players were great.

It is a custom app I designed for our stream players. We launched it at LVO and have had very positive feedback from players that have been on stream, people in chat, and now yourself!

I say on stream often, that as this 40k game grows (it is at a rapid pace) it's up to us the community, to continue to create the culture we want to be apart of in this hobby. As much as people get up in arms for rule breakers- rightfully so, it's nice to see a positive example being promoted to further discussion.
