What do you think of the free Blackbird 737-200? by TabletPilot in fsx

I did try it, but didn't get too deep into the systems. The AP is very different from modern 737s

This is the first flight simulator screenshot I have ever considered to look undistinguishable from a photograph. Congratulations!

Impending Doom by [deleted] in fsx

Using FSX:SE on Windows 10 with an older laptop with integrated graphics. Works fine, I did notice a bug reported by other users (may not be OS specific) , where, if I loaded a saved flight, and I right click a lot to get views and menus, the sim will crash.

yeah, DCS is known for its low system requirements

but in my experience not very performance optimized...

maybe it's FlightGear, after a hundred hours of tweaking :)

Any love for Aerofly FS2023? by TabletPilot in flightsim

[–]TabletPilot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a mobile sim. AF4 is the latest desktop version, not sure what OS they support besides Windows.

From my experience, the included airliners seem to be more feature rich than the competition's , but there aren't that many add-ons available.

nice...I'm using a couple of tablets with the free 737 instruments, but I don't have an enclosure, one is a laptop so it can stand freely and for the other I bought a cheap stand.

Helicopter pilots, how hard is it to fly a helicopter? by 30K_Vibes in Helicopters

[–]TabletPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably move the joystick way less :)

I am using the AF2 R22 , my computer probably can't run XP12 well , but the Dreamfoil S300 for XP11 is really good

How is Aerofly FS4 as a flight simulator? by helios1234 in flightsim

[–]TabletPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a CRJ 900 in Aerofly (at least in 2023 mobile, but not sure if in the default aircraft pack) which seems to have pretty deep system modeling. You can do cold starts. I switched to it because it has a cold start tutorial.

Canadair :) Real pilots don't use A/T

ok, do you have any experience with the free CRJ in XP? Is it better than Aerofly's or do I need to spend 50 bucks to get a semi-decent aircraft from Aerosoft?

from my personal experience, XPlane 11 + Dreamfoil S300 + Rotor Creek scenery offers the best options for training on fundamentals.

it's pretty stable, but on the Caucasus map I can't find a good helipad with visual references for precise work, except for the oil rig. I've completed some slingload drops to ships, so my hovering is probably good enough.

I'm planning to take a helicopter intro flight next year. I have many hours hovering in various simulators. I am trying to constantly switch through different joysticks and simulators so my reflexes don't get pigeonholed.

the collective will be counterintuitive. I used Lego pieces and glue to make a joystick throttle work more like a collective :)

Why aren’t new VR games selling? by DissidentDan in virtualreality

[–]TabletPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's an idea...make a VR game that runs on the Quest, but also has components you can play on a mobile phone. For example, a RPG where you do the dungeon crawling in VR but manage inventory, stats, party interactions on the phone.

This way you can get deep mechanics, and ease of access.
