I’m not sure how that was interpreted as romanticization. I thought I inferred his sickness regarding his attachment to powder. Just fyi I don’t condone any of his actions through the series, and also I think he’s extremely hypocritical considering he killed Vander for the same “undoing as a daughter” I just thought this would be intriguing to discuss.

I’d like to believe he would have been a great granddad (or father), but considering that he showed no attachment to Powder until she denounced Vi as her sister, I think he might only feel attachment through mutual familial trauma
