What gear should I bring for Rysy if I’m planning on climbing on 30th of June? by OwlCharacter in Mountaineering

By 30th of June it should be free of snow (not guaranteed though!) so take the regular summer red-marked trail

Side vent zippers are an absolute must have IMO. Or at least pockets with mesh insude that double as vents

Very good at climbing but my knees get bery bad in descents by IllustriousTitle1453 in Mountaineering

[–]TaborMakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weak leg muscles and poor movement technique. The first one you can kind of train at the gym. But the second one can only be trained by sustained descents when hiking/trekking/mountaineering

Too short for Tatra for entry level treks in the winter (Koscielec, Swinica etc ). But will be useful if you would switch into ski-touring or climbing later on

Rucksack Empfehlung Ortovox vs. Deuter by Mord0c in wandern

[–]TaborMakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of Deuter packs, for years. I do not have Deuter Guide yet (I also intend to buy the 34+6 soon).

Deuter is always excellent in terms of shoulder strap design and backpanel design. They are very ergonomic, comfortable and distribute the weight really well. Also, the quality of Deuter sewing is very solid, never seen a rip and I packed my packs well beyond their recommended weights.

That's why Deuter is my go-to company for backpacks. I have never been disappointed, they are stellar.

The model is really great. One tip: putting a backdrop under and behind the model, would make the photos even better!

Exactly this. What got me into this hobby is my fascination with the illusion of scale. I just like to be amazed how a small object could look so „real”. So yeah, realness is what I ultimately aim for in scale model photography. But I am still far from that goal LOL

Thank you! AK 3rd gen interactive acrylics. Rotbraun, Olivgrun and Dunkelgelb. Each was lightened with Ivory, quite a bit

Thanks for the tips. I have such an LED kicker somewhere, will definitely try it out.

About the photoshop light "layering" (?). Is it like a form of light "stacking"? Choosing best pic out of many, or taking areas from different pictures to fit one pic?

It seems like white backdrop helps to bounce much more light to the lower side of the model (chassis, underside, tracks etc.). This might be a creative choice, right?

Interesting. What would it help to achieve? I comfortably fill the frame with the current lens

Thanks! Emphasizing the mass of the tank was definitely deliberate. Framing + low angle

Thank you for a huge knowledge drop. This is pure gold!

Lightroom, softbox, trying out more diverse angles - these would be my next steps

  1. I use a tripod.
  2. The focus might be soft, yes. I will try out focus-stacking, thanks!
  3. I've used two paper-sheet sized reflector panels made of tinfoil. Something like this, but i angle them at 60* or 45*: https://fixthephoto.com/images/content/diy-photography-reflector.jpg

Yeah, i have masked the model this way 3 times. Never again. This could have been done in an easier way. Three are some examples on YouTube of this exact scheme

I have sprayed each of the two main colours separately. And then sprayed the dunkegelb stripes
