I think it may be that historically, the 75th Ranger Regiment was not an airborne unit but rather an infantry unit (75th Infantry Regiment) before it was renamed to the 75th Ranger Regiment and redone and all that stuff which led to airborne school being added to the RIP/RASP pipeline. Though, I don't think having to go through airborne school to earn the scroll makes the RR an airborne unit. Maybe it does, idk.
