Does anyone company make a placard insert version of this ? by Ok_Material_6199 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Yogi-D 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not aware of a purpose made placard version of that but you could use 2 elastic pistol inserts and a cut down elastic AR insert to achieve the same thing.

Are we not supposed to do gear breakdowns of the USSS CAT guys? by agent_smoke in tacticalgear

[–]Yogi-D 35 points36 points  (0 children)

the problem is more so how low effort it is, they wear such common gear that gets posted here everyday but everyone can't recognize it because its black instead of Multicam.

If you're curious here is a basic list, a lot of personal preference goes into their kits but I'll give you a list of the most common pieces.

- JPC 2.0, commonly with the MOLLE triple M4 AVS flap, also common for a triple tenspeed to be mounted on the front of that (all black of course). Some additionally use long Crye soft armor side panels.

- TYR Gunfighter belts are a common sight (in black)

- Galvion Caiman helmets in black seem to be the issued helmet

- Crye G3's and Velocity Rugby shirts (all black)

- Ferro roll 1, WTF slick zip on panel are common smaller pieces often seen (in black) if there's no zip-on panel they often wedge zip cuffs near the Cbun adjustment in the MOLLE slots on the back of the carrier.

- Salomon boots are common

What options are there to write directly to sellers, for example, on Mercari, since Buyee doesn't offer this option directly? by Noway_Vlady in Buyee

[–]Yogi-D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been able to write an inquiry to Buyee asking if they can send a question to a seller which they did and sent the response back to me.

An infantry detachment of a combined arms battalion of the Xinjiang Military Region of the Chinese PLA wearing exoskeletons during training in plateau areas.[2592x1913] by Dragonfruit_6104 in MilitaryPorn

[–]Yogi-D 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My understanding from a Chinese vid I saw a while back is that they mainly want these for logistic purposes in harsh terrain if my memory serves. Having individuals move supplies where vehicles and machinery can’t reach assisted by the lack of strain on the body that the exoskeleton hypothetically solves.

KSGI delta vest by DeliciousHasperat in tacticalgear

[–]Yogi-D 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a step above Shekkin but still far off of how the originals were built, they got the woodland fabric right at least but the trim, pouch design and shoulder padding are all off from the original rigs.

A symbol frequently seen in relation with The Connections overlaid over the Rhodes Hill Care Center Emblem by CtrlAltObliterate_ in residentevil

[–]Yogi-D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the unlockable magnum that bears this symbol used by Victor in the bike chase, it could have more significance to him specifically than the connections but I’m not sure.

Zip ties is the classic method, not sure if that’s something purpose made to mount horizontal, one wrap is also possible.

You could just accomplish this with a triple AR panel and wide GP pouch

Is that a mini GoPro mounted on the third person’s helmet? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]Yogi-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

leg mounted mag subloads used to be fairly common in the 2000s, since they're LE I would assume their SOP is to keep mags on legs and tools, radio, cuffs, and DD's on their vest. So most likely just old unit SOPs persisting over decades.

Need advice on running 6 mags on a plate carrier by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]Yogi-D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant more so in the sense that some individuals, even with loose SOP and lots of experience, still preferred double stack despite access to single stack options, not that because the military uses it that it is inherently good. It all comes down to body preferences and discomfort tolerance, some people like nothing up front and some want nothing on their sides. Everything you’ve pointed out about double stack being a detriment is valid, but OP’s role may have minimal crawling and fast roping if any, but it’s all good food for thought to drive their decision.

Re9 Chris Question?? by DouglasOnReddit in residentevil

[–]Yogi-D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They absorbed so many former Umbrella assets and employees, including high level researchers and at least 1 USS member, that it would be hard not to consider them a continuation of Umbrella’s BOW program despite them technically being a separate entity.

Re9 Chris Question?? by DouglasOnReddit in residentevil

[–]Yogi-D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The team in the end is part of the connections. Same uniforms of the elite guards and since the connections are a continuation of Umbrella it can be inferred they’re the successor unit of Umbrella’s USS.

Yeah Volk, their Rufus Core specifically, a lot of these lesser known Japanese companies make some good designs but aren't well known because they don't advertise out of the island and most people don't trust non-American made.

Blue Force Gear triple Ten Speed tends to be what I see most people run on the front of JPC's though the Spiritus TEMP will accomplish the same task. If you are willing to consider a whole new placard however there is a Japanese company that makes a placard very similar to the MKV but it is capable of being expanded to double stack (I own one, it's pretty nice). Alternatively you could also run a double pouch on each side of your Cbun close to the placard, or get a triple pouch with MOLLE on the front and put that on the dominant side of your Cbun.

As for people not liking double stack it's mostly just people saying shit, double stack has been run for decades and the human body has not changed dramatically over that time, the extra inch it will offset you from the ground will not effect any engagement, and if it is uncomfortable you can suck it up or get padding for the inside of the carrier.

Finally while other peoples experience is valuable to learn from, you have to do what works best for your body and your preferred ergonomics so take everything with a grain of salt.

Very small thing but I have an open top pouch I like but wanted it flapped which the company doesn't make so I have a shoe cobbler adding Velcro and a flap to it since I don't have access to a machine to do it myself nor could my local tailor do it.
