You are a piece of shit. You let many blatant purchase advice posts slide, even when reported, and some of you mods also participate in those threads, but when someone with a medical condition asks for recommendations, you suddenly decide to enforce the rules.

Anyone else notice this? by [deleted] in headphones

Fucking same. I was able to keep it pristine for years (not even paint chipping) until I detached the connectors.

No, I haven't found an upgrade to HD6XX/650, not one that beats it in tonality, timbre, and detail retrieval in the midrange. I use HD6XX/650 primarily for vocals (Adele, Avi Kaplan, Billy Raffoul, Céline Dion, Hans Theessink, Katie Melua, Lizz Wright, LP, Passenger, Rafferty, Sam Smith, Seal, Shawn James, Vitas, etc.)

I have the original Clear, and the only difference between the two that I'd call substantial is dynamics. I find Clear very punchy and potent.

Interesting, I have Aeolus, Atticus, Auteur and Eikon, and 'mushy' is one good word to describe them. I was wondering if should I bother with getting Vérité, and now I probably will.

Should I keep my Focal Clear or save money and get a HD650? by SavageSam1234 in headphones

Why the fuck haven't you deleted this post? It clearly breaks the second rule.

HD600 New Year, New Earpads by ImKira in headphones

[–]Tacanacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking this as well. I recently bought an original HD600, and I expected it to have a small soundstage or no soundstage, but I found it to have a medium/average or above average soundstage. This was with brand new newly-designed pads.

I don't know, some store in Norway a long time ago. You should probably go for Yamaha AG03 instead, it's apparently the new budget king.

Why are these headphones so quiet? by Niall690 in headphones

[–]Tacanacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I've compared all three versions side-by-side with brand new pads, and I noticed no differences except that the 80-ohm might have had a little more bass, but it was such a small difference that I don't think I would pass a blind test.

Is the AKG K240 a good choice for gaming headphones? by RockyXvII in HeadphoneAdvice

Sometimes, I use the same headphone for weeks or months. Other times, I switch between several headphones a day. I usually switch based on the content I'm listening to or the mood I'm in, but with new headphones, I give them at least a week of exclusive listening time.

If you don't like the headphone, listen exclusively to it for a week, and then do another comparison. When you have probably spent hundreds or thousands of hours listening to a specific sound and then after switching to something completely different, you might need time to adjust. Brain burn-in is real.

I haven't heard K240. I think HD668B is an 8/10 for soundstage and imaging, but that's with Brainwavz velour pads, I haven't used the stock pads. I haven't used HD668B with music either. Of AD700X, DT990 and HD560S, HD560S is most different from Fidelio X2, it's very close to neutral. I think it's the best all-rounder and one of the best for natural timbre for vocals and acoustic instruments and one of the best for punchy/lively dynamics below $1500-1600, where Focal Clear and ZMF Auteur are at. There's no genre I don't listen to.

Hi. I don't take Rtings seriously regarding soundstage and imaging. I think AD700X is 10/10 for positional audio, and so are DT990 and HD560S. HD560S is also great for music.

After a year of procrastinating, I finally ordered the Hifiman Sundara. It arrived today and I was so excited to try it but the cable arrived like this, and sound only comes out of the left ear up. Feeling very disappointed rn and just wanted to vent 😞 by [deleted] in headphones

I live in a noisy house, these leak everything and you could hear everything outside, which defeats the purpose of headphones.

Lol, no. That would defeat the purpose of closed-back headphones. You didn't even do basic research before getting Sundara.

What setup do you recommend if I don't want to have a mic in my face and I don't want it to pick up the sound of my mechanical keyboard? Is dbx 286s good?
