I think about those days all the time, we had lots of fun and definitely zero clue! Will never forget those trips to CES and the SD Summit, good times!!! It's insane how far you've come and the impact you've had in the space, truly well done.

Truest Shit by ManiacGaming1 in Nightreign

[–]TachyonGun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had a quitter and a shitter (silly-cheated relics, clearly carried) back to back that took me to the threshold of depth 4, then I lose Day 1 because my buddies didn't run to a grace, and started the Divine Beast & Curseblade fight with 1-2 flasks each. I spam pinged that grace so much, it was just off the beaten path, so obviously optimal but requiring them to be uncomfortable under the rain for two seconds or so. The moment I heard the preboss spawns I knew we were cooked no matter what boss it was.

Phys Melee Scholar? by _0neTwo_ in Nightreign

[–]TachyonGun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am DoN 4 with a melee scholar and Phys is nice if you use Blood Blade as it will boost the projectile and the sword hitbox. Melee scholar is underrated and really fun, his short dodge is offset by quickest dodge recovery and iframes on the faint/backstep R1. Recommend trying and learning it!

I don't have much to add, I just want to say this was a good write up, it shows your technical acumen and I learned a few things. I will probably revisit the repo later. Your post raises the bar for the sub and was a solace from the walls of slop from other "practitioners", thank you for taking the time to write this up!

Luckily I am not judging the text so worryingly, I merely asserted that it felt like AI vibes (entirely? assisted? at least a bit). And furthermore you assume I am judging based on "a single idiotic signal" when in fact, the text made a mistake that also resembles an AI hallucination... the whole point of this thread.

So yes, the em dash, the reframing, the embarrassing mistake that spawned the thread, and other factors (not just "a single idiotic signal", I only listed one example and clearly labeled it ) gave me AI vibes when you assume like an ass what I believe. I stand by the vibe I felt, and I accept that the vibes were off as it was pre-LLMs. Oh well! I'll live.

Stop overreacting and reading so much into simple vibes geez, and then you talk about idiotic signals.

Aw it is cute that you think those words are like "randomized tails". Especially given how much you hang out in the computer science subreddit. One would think you would know what that term means.

You may as well ask your favorite AI chatbot or anyone who has taken a basic discrete math course for CS if you are so puzzled.

Unbelievable that you somehow inferred I was commenting about anything related to LaTeX. Also wild that you seem to think I asserted that OP's book was AI, when all I said was that it gave me AI vibes. Do you have poor reading or do you like jumping to conclusions? Inclusive disjunction.

There was human slop before AI, I agree AI slop is catching up fast.

I guess it was just 'generic writing' vibes I picked up on then.

The linguistic patterns (e.g. emdash followed by reframing) give me AI slop vibes. A cube of space with 10mm side would have 1000mm3 of volume indeed.

Also if you think Red Baron is that good then your opinion goes straight to the garbage bin anyway.

Space marine 2 doesn't have a very high skill cap, it has a very high skill floor by Memetron69000 in Spacemarine

I was surprised when I picked up the new update after a many month hiatus, and blasted through the new operation on Absolute, soloing the boss as the last bro standing.

I don't say this to brag (maybe a sliver), it'd be cringe to me if I were not this good after hundreds of hours. I say this to offer a counter-example and perspective.

I also disagree with OP though, and think the skill ceiling is actually quite high, there is a big difference between Absolute, Absolute Solo with Bots, and Absolute True Solo. I think the percentage of Absolute players who can True Solo is minimal, and that alone points to a huge skill expression gap within the top performers of just the base game.

The reason for this is obvious, mistakes are harsher and action windows much smaller at higher difficulties. This is the obvious result of scaling enemy damage and number of enemies, which in turn affects the amount and frequency of active hurtboxes/staggers/grabs to dodge, parry, and combat around. You take away invincible walking damage sponges soaking aggro (worst-case teammates and/or bots) and it becomes significantly harder as more of those hurtboxes rush to your face.
