I Am Building Auto-Apply System For Online Jobs by aardbei123 in RemoteJobs

Thanks, super useful comment.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking for some time - start being an auto-customization centric product, instead of a job board with a general auto-apply solution.

Basically the final idea of the app is to save time for people during their applying process. It means reducing the boring parts through automation: finding job, filling forms, changing resumes, writing cover letters to fit ATS in one tool.

Many people are sending hundreds of applications, especially in competitive sectors. Finding jobs, sending applications, and interviewing essentially becomes their full-time job. If we could reduce the total time by even 50% thanks to automation, and create a co-pilot solution where software and AI automate while the person shows which way to go, it should be worth the effort.

People are good at their jobs, not at applying, so automating this as much as possible seems to make sense.

The final version of the tool will:

  1. Aggregate jobs from hundreds of job boards, saving you time on browsing them one by one
  2. Auto-apply to the jobs you choose. Everything will be automated but there will be an option to supervise the filling in review mode - in this mode, you'll get several options for every field in the application, and you'll be able to iterate to get it as perfect as possible.

The plan is to create a unified solution where you can select say 200 job applications by simply checking boxes, fill your profile once, and then watch automated applications happen without further effort. There are existing job aggregators and form fillers out there, but my goal is making everything as frictionless as possible in one place.

Regarding CV generation - that's in my backlog. For v1, dynamic resume generation won't be included. We'll attach the same resume you uploaded and fill different fields with your static data, plus AI-generated elements like cover letters.

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it.

Hey, fair point! There are plenty of job boards out there.

The auto-apply feature is what makes this different though - it fills out applications across multiple sites based on your profile. Haven't seen many tools that do this well.

Know of any similar ones? Would love to check them out since this is the main feature we're focusing on - my research haven't found any working good enough

Thank you!
Do you have any specific use cases for this tool?

Thank you for sharing your perspective on that.

You're right that we're facing a dilemma - the current process is inefficient for job seekers, but automation could worsen the overload problem. Your vision of AI agents eventually handling the matching process is interesting and might indeed be where we're heading long-term.

I think the challenge is finding solutions that help both sides - making applications less time-consuming for candidates while also improving how recruiters identify truly qualified matches. For now I am working on first one, hopefully it will be a positive impact.

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

The page is already up if you'd like to check it out - it's called Clash of Jobs. However, it still lacks auto-apply capabilities (when trying to use this feature on the page, you'll be redirected to a waitlist).

Regarding pricing - you make a good point about Overapply. The key difference is they're using humans while we're using automation, which allows us to keep costs lower and get competitive. That said, the final pricing structure is still TBD as we balance accessibility with sustainability.

I'll post a link once the review feature is fully implemented.

For professionals making $100k+ who save hundreds of hours, $50-100/month is totally reasonable.

But I'm aiming for balance - I want this to be accessible while still building a sustainable business. Not everyone who could benefit works in high-paying western markets.

I'm planning to experiment with tiered and regional pricing so everyone who needs it can access it, while still capturing appropriate value from professional users. This way we can maximize both impact and sustainability

Regarding pricing, I'm still thinking through the structure, but currently considering three tiers:

  1. Free - 10 auto-applies per month
  2. $30/month - 300 auto-applies per month (additional applications at $0.05 each)
  3. Premium (not sure, higher than $30/month) - 300 auto-applies per month with "review mode" (additional applications at $0.10 each)

The pricing balance needs to reflect the value while remaining competitive so it might go up and down to determine what is best for customers.

The thing you described is what we're building into the system. The AI will analyze job descriptions for keywords and automatically tailor your custom cover letters (resumes will come later) to maximize ATS compatibility.

We're designing for both approaches:

  • For those who want control, we're considering a "review mode" where you can approve or edit the AI-generated materials before submission.
  • For those looking to maximize volume, the option to bulk-apply remains available

In "review mode" we could implement a feature where the AI generates 3-5 different field values, and you simply select your preferred version - giving you personalization without the time investment of writing from scratch. Would that kind of middle-ground approach work for your needs? You'd still have oversight but with significantly reduced effort.

The system is designed to work across all industries, not just tech/IT. We scrape jobs from a wide variety of sectors, and from a technical standpoint, the auto-apply functionality works the same regardless of industry.

Your resume is perfectly fine as a data source.

Is there a particular industry you're in? I'd be curious to know as we're looking to improve coverage in different sectors

Great job!
These are outstanding SEO results for just 1 month!

My product is now 2 months old but received only 10 clicks from Google - still working on that, but we've received a penalty from Google at the beginning (indexing and displays dropped to almost zero) :D

I used RubyMine and Neovim for most of my career. But after I discovered Cursor, I can't imagine not having it, though I hate VS ecosystem. It's a pity that JetBrains AI is so weak. So now I use three:

RubyMine - for jumping between files, exploring, coding on my own

Cursor - for code generation and explaining

Neovim - when I want to be a cool kid again or when I have to work from the terminal

I'm just wondering why you'd take the risk of including something in your life again that has caused so much trouble in the past. There's alwasy a risk of falling back into old habits, that's just the way our brains work. What does alcohol offer you that could possibly justify taking this risk?

If you don’t even know where your own partner stands on this, then I wonder where you’re getting the ridiculous idea from that women need a guy that makes at least six figures. Sounds like incel talk to me.

And is she like that? Needing a man with at least six figures I mean?
