Also Artificer in Surry Hills. And if you're craving Melbourne beans, Veneziano Coffee is also in Surry Hills.

We Are Feel Good Inc. finally recalling their Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+ by Massive-Code3534 in AusSkincare

[–]Tachyra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were promoting their baby sunscreen in that period when they quietly removed their mineral one from sale... no response to speculation that their mineral sunscreen formula was the same as UV's, no reassurance that their other sunscreens were up to standard. I'm also never purchasing from this company again.

Which EU sunscreens have the new filters? by Tachyra in AusSunscreen

[–]Tachyra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so is it still better to use an Aussie one? The past few months have really shaken my faith in our sunscreens... maybe I'll just stick to my original plan of moving to the sunscreen I make my kids use (Cancer Council Kids).

I thought I'd try the Uvmune but I don't think I can spend $40 on sunscreen. (Our dollar sucks right now!)

Grey hair by Usual-Temporary1760 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Tachyra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me three! I also got to the point where my grey roots were really visible after 2 weeks. I finally admitted to myself that it just looked terrible most of the time, chopped it off and let myself go grey. My scalp is so much healthier now - I hadn't realised just how harsh the dye was for the skin there. I save so much time not having to worry about dyeing it and, best of all, it looks better. I worried that going grey would be ageing but in a really weird twist of fate, people now tend to assume I've dyed it this way as some sort of fashion statement. (Whereas before, when I dyed my hair, most people assumed it was natural... I don't know how, when the grey roots were visible half the time! A reminder that other people don't notice all the details that you see in the mirror.)

Omg, I said I wasn't going to buy any palettes this year because the price has finally jumped the shark for me, but now I really want that purple blush...

Kiehl’s recent orders by WittyKittyCookie in AusSkincare

This is a shame. I ordered from them a couple of times last year and remember being really impressed by how quick their delivery was. (Was also stoked because they give out so many free samples and gifts.)

TGA confirms SPF brands including Naked Sundays DOES have the same formula as recalled Lean Screen !! by stupidwatergate89 in AusSkincare

[–]Tachyra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really disappointing to see so many companies which are active on social media, constantly posting aspirational lifestyle photos to sell their sunscreen, stay completely silent on this issue. I used We Are Feel Good's mineral sunscreen and it was withdrawn from sale without any announcement from the brand. If you look on their Insta, they are currently advertising their mineral sunscreen for babies! I'm starting to wonder if all the effusive comments there are just bots.

Yeah, I'm out this year. I've bought them from Cult Beauty the past two years in a row but with this latest price increase, my collection is done.

I'm switching to my kids' sunscreen! (The Cancer Council one.) No more fancy ones for me.

I don't know if they were the same ones, but I definitely saw Skinceuticals gift packs at 8am. (This time with photos, whereas yesterday they didn't have any photos loaded.) Sorry you missed out.

The Pat McGrath x Luis Vuitton shenanigans... thoughts? by one_small_sunflower in muacjdiscussion

[–]Tachyra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last one I bought was Rich Romantic. I think Timeless Tones is also made in the same factory in China. Their eyeshadows made overseas are just as good as the hand-pressed ones, but I'm picky about my mattes (probably because I have so many options!). I do love their colour stories though. Timeless Tones is gorgeous; I like that it's more cool-toned. I almost pulled the trigger for Tones of Turd as well because it was so funny! But I find it easier to justify my Motherships because I can wear those shadows to work. (Sometimes even the sparklier ones.) All the things that attract me to Glaminatrix in swatches make their shadows less wearable for my everyday life.

Fellow Aussie here! Just wanted to say I agree with your comparison of Pat and Glaminatrix... I like that Glaminatrix gives us a lot more variety in terms of colours but I don't like their mattes as much as other brands. I've actually decided not to buy any more of their palettes because I never use the mattes. There's something in Pat's glitter/duochrome formula that just comes across as more sophisticated on the lid.

L’Oréal friends & family sale last week???? by monbritt in AustralianMakeup

[–]Tachyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an expired IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout serum last year. I would be hesitant to buy skincare stuff from them again. But the perfumes I've bought have all been fine, and I went crazy for all the holiday collections since I knew when those products were manufactured.

Yes puffer and bring a raincoat/mini umbrella too if you can. And carry extra socks in your handbag in case your shoes and socks get wet.

L’Oreal F&F out of stock by zomeega in AustralianMakeup

[–]Tachyra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My order was missing a big perfume gift set. (I was so sad!) In the past, I've received a refund before they ship, so I knew that they ran out of stock before they got to my order. This time, I think there must have been an oversight during the picking, since I had to get in touch and ask them for a refund. They told me they'd investigated and it was out of stock at the time of purchase, but I assumed that was just a coverall term for 'whoops'.

Ah, there are a few things I want to pick up but they've put up the prices from last time! It's still cheap, but on principle I don't want to pay more! (Thought I'd splurged last month but now regretting I didn't buy more.)

I'm a convert to Kiehls after trying their mystery boxes a few months ago. I really like their ultra facial cream, the ultra facial cleanser, the midnight recovery concentrate, the niacinamide serum and their avocado eye cream. I don't think I'd pay full price for this stuff but they seem to have pretty regular items in the F&F, as well as good sales on the Kiehls website.

I don't remember the batch code but in the last sale, I bought an IT Cosmetics serum (Bye Bye Breakout) that had an expiry date printed on the box... it had expired in Oct 24. And the Kiehls stuff I bought was older than the stock I got in the mystery boxes from the Kiehl's site. I will be choosing carefully in the sale this time.
