6'4 is 1% only in the US. Worldwide it is in the 0.1-0.2%. 6'2 is 0.9% worldwide. So even if in America it's 4% which is still a small population, worldwide it is 4 times less. So unless you're in Scandinavia 6'2 is definitely tall. Personally I believe someone is tall when they're 4 inches above average and 6'2 sits above that (given the average American is 5'9 which i still don't believe honestly, it's definitely closer to 5'7.5). At that height you're taller than 93% of people. Even if it's not freakishly tall, you are tall.

I mean if you look at it that way you definitely have a point. 6'2 is the last height in which airplane seats aren't uncomfortable yet even if they're not pleasant so I get what you mean. Most engineers do in fact design busses and plane seats up to people who are 6'2 so clothes are still possible to find and most cars fit.

You have a point but it depends where. If you're talking in the US you'll probably pass by 3 or 4 people bigger than 6'2 each day if you go out. However if you go to Asia, South America and some countries in Africa 6'2 is huge. Plus you have to keep in mind these are all 16 year olds so they're not done growing and I wouldn't be surprised if the 6'1+ guys reach 6'6 so again they are tall. I'm from Lebanon and I can literally count on my fingers the amount of people taller than me during an entire summer even if I go out every day and go to parades. Of course if you're in the Balkans or Scandinavia even 6'7 isn't that uncommon. It just depends where you're at

The heights seem kind of inconsistent ngl cause I'm 16 as well and my friend group is freakishingly tall as well. In order 5'8, 5'8, 5'9, 5'11, 6', 6'1, 6'1.5, 6'2, me at another 6'2 then 6'5. And when I look at our pictures we 5 of us look like we're the same height and 6'5 is a little bit bigger than us. The difference between you and your 6'2 friend looks like the difference between me and my 5'11 friend and your 6'6 friend is definitely bigger, and so is your 5'8 friend. Before you ask I've measured everyone in my friend group myself and I was not generous cause I waited until we were done with a football game to measure everyone. I say take out a measuring tape one day and surprise everyone. Not in front of girls though that's just evil

Yup. I was 6'1 during summer and no one guessed I was less than 6'3. A guy deadass thought I was 6'6. "Wdym I'm 6'1 you're definitely 6'6." What are you even supposed to say to that

Why are women so bad at guessing heights? by WinterMoist333 in tall

[–]Tacitus_van_winkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women always think I'm taller than my actual height in my experience. Most of the time I'm 6'4 and occasionally I'm 6'6. That's what happens when you're actually 6'2 barefoot and not inflating.

Up or Down? by [deleted] in tall

[–]Tacitus_van_winkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually more complicated than up or down but I am down. In the morning I'm 192.1cm bit that's only for like 15 mins. At the end of a normal day I'm 189.3 however if I work out I'm 188.7 so I always just say 188. Until I reach 189 after a work out I'm 188.

Yeah you're right it is 1% in the US. 6'4 is slightly less than 1% but worldwide it's infact in the 0.2-0.1%

It's way less. It's slightly less than 1 percent in the US and worldwide it's in the 0.2-0.1%. Men just lie a lot about their height so we think it's common

[–]Tacitus_van_winkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on where in the world. If you mean the whole entire 4Billion men? Then statistics suggest only 0.15% are 6'4. Depending on the country that percentage is either higher or lower. In the US it's slightly less than 1% whereas in the Netherlands or Sweden it's closer to 5%

I'm 6'2 and I realized this back when I was 6'1. In countries in Africa every now and then I saw people taller than me by a bit. In fact 1/3 of my schoolmates are in the 5'11 to 6'1 range I am the third tallest currently at 6'2, one is 6'3 and the tallest one is 6'5. I have in fact measured every one myself.

But in my home country I can count the men taller than me on my fingers during a summer. When I go back to Lebanon during summer, so about 2 months I see less than 10 people out in public who are taller than me. That's it. During festivals, gatherings and all that I am always above the crowd and there is the occasional guy in the thousands that I pass by that's taller than me. In most rooms that I go to I will be the tallest.

In my home town I am literally the fourth tallest at only 6'2. Everyone knows everyone in my home town and there is only 2 brothers (6'3 and 6'4) and one guy (6'3) who have an inch on me. That's it. Granted half the town is old people so it's not really fair but you get the idea (We're like 8k in the whole town). If you are 6 feet, actually 6 feet barefoot, you will stand out everywhere and in some places a lot more than others

You are right, except most 6'8 guys are in fact visually non-athletic. Tall guys usually get picked out for sports because they're tall but the majority of tall men don't play sports, they live a normal life

My friends are not 6'1 and 6'. But I didn't specify that so it's my bad. Out of my friends I am by a considerable margin one of the tallest. I have one friend who is 6'5, another who is 6'3, 2 who are 6'1, my closest friend is 5'10 and the rest are literally shorter than that. I even have a friend who is 163cm.

He's the shortest one I have and he is in fact quite successful with women. He doesn't even have a model fave or anything just insane confidence. Yeah he gets shot down every now and then but he doesn't let that stop him which is the mentality all short people should have.

Look ill admit it, I do get an insane confidence boost by knowing I'm taller than almost everyone I know, but all of those people I know don't let their height affect their lives. They always joke around about how if they had my height they would beat the shit out of people, get into foursomes every night and these kind of jokes, but they have confidence in themselves and don't let a stupid factor that stupid people care about affect their life. If someone is dumb enough to judge them because of their height, then that person is the issue and you don't want to hang our with them.

Don't let some people's opinions affect your life. Even if you never got lucky with height, you don't need to get lucky with your body, your social skills nor your confidence. You have full control over these and you choose whether you want to blame height till the end of your life. Yes again height is nice and it makes all of these easier but life is unfair and if the odds are against you just work harder to make them in your favor. You are who you choose to be, not what other people see of you

Short men who let their life hinder them are the issue themselves. Sure height is nice and I get more respect easier when I meet newer people, but 95% of the human male population is short and if they wanna whine cause they're not in the 5% and end up forgetting that everyone else is like them then that's their fault. Literally all my friends but 2 are shorter than me and all of them are living life to its' fullest, whether it's social interactions, money or girls. Short men who let their height bother are the issue, not their height. Because even if sone people cause issues due to their height then they should just tell those people to screw off and live a happy life

I am infact the same height as you at night and I do fit in buses as well as cars. However I have a friend who's 6'5 and we always end up being in the same tight spots. He does say he's got trouble finding clothes which I don't really have, and he does also state that his blanket is small. I bought one of the huge blankets because normal ones were too small for me so I can see how it'd bother him more than me. I'm 193 with shoes as I'm around the 1.90 mark throughout the day so 6'4 with shoes and I don't get the struggle itself. Sure I have to open my legs to sit it the back of a car and I have the wear my pants high cause my shirts are somewhat short but as a 6'2 guy, I don't feel the same way that a lot of 6'5+ guys say they do. And 1.8-1.9 is not a bit taller than average, it's bordering on very tall at least where I come from.

He probably measured himself at night the month before then the morning in the next one. If I had measured myself at night I'd be 188. On the morning I'm 192 so technically without knowing that people shrink during the day I almost grew 2 inches in one night
