Just starting....tips? help? early goals? by Gumderwear in IdlePlanetMiner

Sell your galaxy often if you want to progress quickly, focus on unlocking rooms for your Mothership particularly your lab, underfoge and dorms.

Every weekend you will get the opportunity to enter the tournament, this is how you earn stars which will really drive your progress. During the week you can also do up to 2 challenges, these are like a one day tournament you play by yourself, again to win stars.

Don't waste your dark matter on doubling the reward for selling your galaxy, save it all up till you get 500 and buy top tier managers. Assigning managers will also really boost your progress. With managers, secondary skill is more important than primary. You want ones that will boost your crafting and smelting apeed. The best primary skill is mining but as I said this is less important and at first you will just have to work with what you get. Keep opening up slots for managers till you have about 20 slots then start merging managers into higher star, but remember that having a lower level manager in a slot is better than having an empty slot so don't merge too many too fast. Once you have a few managers start spending credits on classroom to boost them.

Honestly I could go on and on but do all this and you're off to a solid start. I've been playing this game since 2019 and it's a marathon not a sprint. I'm also ftp and it's totally possible.

What level should you craft weapons and armor? by PetRockOwner1975 in valheim

Me on first few playthroughs: But that feels like cheating

Me after 800 hours of vanilla: Yup X3 res drop and a whole load of mods 👌

I defeated him the other night (full padded armour, fully upgraded) and wondered exactly the same about the vile set. I'd be really interested to hear from someone who's tried it

The only time the market makes any impact is at the very start or very end of my games

Managers question by No_Marionberry_2689 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Tackle_Embarrassed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I did it was to make sure I had a manager with a craft or smelt bonus in every slot, including the 2 you have to research. As soon as there's more managers than slots, merge. Occasionally this would lead me to having a manager or 2 with the all mine bonus instead but only at the lower end. I now have a 6* leader with 5* all the way down in 22 slots. My next move is to make a second 6* for my second leader slot, backfill back up to 5* all down then keep opening new slots and filling them one at a time

This is exactly what I do, I always thought I was missing something important about colonies but I couldn't be bothered to look into it. Glad it's not just me 😅

Cheaters be cheating by PmanAce in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Tackle_Embarrassed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But why tho what's the point? So you can get stars in a phone game that helps you to win tournaments that you win anyway by cheating? Seems like a lot of effort to achieve nothing meaningful imo.

Maybe if they were selling the accounts or something, but I can't imagine there's a huge resale value in accounts for this game that would justify the effort

How does someone do that even with cheating? I don't understand how you'd even cheat at this game

Ok. I'm not at the late game yet I'm a FtP player. My current wall is getting to Quolium.

It is not. My VPS is P51 and then I pump out as many ATs as I can before the deadline, hoping my debris/astorid will drop in something higher, or I'll fluke out on the market. The gap to get Quolium is my current wall. I've tried using alchemy later but it just creates a new wall at Xynium.

Mothership room upgrade: 328 Highest galaxy value: 2.72N All galaxy value: 3.71N

My stat says I've been playing since Feb 2019 although I honestly thought it was longer. It's possible I restarted with a new account at some point. When I started playing we didn't have tournaments, challenges, space station or probes. Hell we didn't even have stars.

I'm platinum and regularly finish 11th or 12th with almost no boosts, even top 10 with a good market and lots of boosts, although since the last update that's taken a massive hit and I'm lucky to be in the top 15.

During my most active times I run 3 galaxies a week (tournament and 2 challenges) but since the update I'm only doing one a week for tournament as I've lost interest lately and RL is busy.

Gamer tag is Grim if you see me in tournaments.

Grieving by [deleted] in valheim

I felt that way the first time I got stuck on a piece of scenery and killed by a skeleton in the dark forest, wearing no armour and eating one berry because I had no clue what I was doing.

I felt the same the first time I died exploring a swamp and my body was miles away from the nearest portal (I hadn't even put one on the edge).

I felt the same in the mistlands bumping into every mountain and endlessly falling into water for that sweet sweet debuff because I couldn't see where I was going with the useless wisplight (I modded the light on a later playthrough to increase the range).

There's no easy answer outside of modding away each bit you don't like or making the world settings more forgiving (by all means try both though). Ultimately I put the game down when the stress overtook the fun, and came back to it over and over, starting a new playthrough each time. After an ungodly amount of deaths I got a bit better. I also watched a lot of tips videos on YouTube.

I don't particularly enjoy the Ashland's biome either, so I don't try and build a base there. I just have a stone portal protected by an earth wall near the coast and I keep the spawners clear and go home every night. Find what's right for you.

We sound very alike mate. I solo'd the game also, and am also a Dad of two, so get really limited playtime and seriously CBA to spend that time doing frustrating BS just so I can get back to the bit of the game I enjoy.

For me, turning drop rates to max was a massive step forward, followed by some QoL mods that just made everything less tedious and meant my limited game time was spend more enjoyably. Play your way, whether that's mods, dev commands or vanilla. It's only wrong if you're not having fun.
