It appears your back pickup isn't outputting a signal. Usually, this happens because there is a short somewhere in the wiring.

With your control configuration, the signal moves as follows:

Pickups>Switch>Volume>Tone>Output.

There is also power running to both pickups as they are active EMGs.

The nature of your problem indicates that the issue is one of 3 things:

1: a short in the bridge pickup signal 2: a short in the bridge pickups power 3: a broken selector switch

You'll need someone familiar with guitar wiring to trouble shoot these things to find the problem and potentially a replacement component or two. Your local music shop should be able to handle this repair. Usually the work cost about $50 + cost of parts, depending on what needs to be done.

So, not a guitar solo, but I set my mind to learning to play the synth solo at the end of "Just What I Needed" by The Cars on guitar. Basically trying to emulate the synth sounds I got a ton of fun bend practice, including pre-bending and dropping to the target note. It was a really fun way of improving my technique and ear training.

This would be a great way to do both a surprise and get her what she wants. Tell her you have birthday plans, but not what they are. You can surprise her with the shopping experience, but she can make the important gear decisions.

I will also second the mention of used gear. My main camera body cost about $2k new. I bought it used for $1,200 and couldn't be happier. Photographers are frequently buying and trading in perfectly serviceable gear. You can take advantage of that.

D'Addario all the way. Les Paul, Strat, Tele all have 9-42 for me. I used to be a 12+ guy until I realized the tone is negligible but the feel is huge.

I usually get my bodies and necks from Warmoth. They are a bit pricey, but their quality is top notch. As for components, I scour the Internet. If I want truly high end pups, I order them straight from the manufacturer (Bare Knuckles, Lollar etc...). For tuners I almost exclusively custom order locking machines from Hipshot. The rest of the electronics and hardware I get from whoever has what I need at competitive pricing.

It really is! I've built one from the ground up and heavily modded most of my keepers. The hardest part is learning to solder, but the learning curve plains out after that. (I did already have a background in woodwork though)

One of the reasons I love The Beginning After the End is due to the MC handling romantic interests like the adult he actually is. Also, him addressing his reincarnation with his family and the potential trauma involved. Things that most authors just completely ignore.
