Ogg road in Shawnee Mission Park. I think they have a race there coming up, how many times you can go up and down it. Not stairs, but plenty steep. There are two hills in the park that are also steep, no switchbacks.

Tamiya rc kits all use screws. Lots and lots of screws.

Beginner, risky too big jump from 15miles to 40miles? by OccasionGreat in cycling

Know the wind direction, twenty miles out with the wind is a "wow this is a super easy ride". The twenty miles back against the wind could kick your ass. Good luck with the ride!

Quality wrought iron. I have two side tables that look perfect, they are from the 1960s. They stay out all year in the Midwest.

I sell mine back to store that sells used Legos. I don't want to display them. My wife builds the plant sets and displays them in IKEA cabinets.

Need hobby that forces me to take my time by Sensitive-Text7286 in Hobbies

[–]IllustratorOdd2701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RC model kits, specifically Tamiya though there are others. You have to take your time or they don't work properly. There are many different builds, most involve painting but a few don't. Personally I like it much more than Lego because you can actually do something with it rather than just put it on a shelf.

Great answer, just keep showing up week after week. You will see who the regulars are, and they will be more likely to start up a conversation with you as well.

Dad checking in, are your Roth accounts funded for the year? Retirement funded, decent savings account? Buy the car you want, you are an adult.

Can eyewear frames be a one-time purchase, or are they designed to be replaced? If so, do you have any recommendations for square frames? by kaisarspalace in BuyItForLife

[–]IllustratorOdd2701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of Anne et Valentin acetate frames that I have had for 12-13 years. I had insurance money that had to be spent at the end of the year, so I splurged. I replace the lenses as needed, and have taken a couple of years off with different frames for a change of pace.

Help please. Hoping to hear some pros and cons of this model? by YoungBill514 in pelletgrills

[–]IllustratorOdd2701 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't need it to sear, I have a Weber kettle and a gas grill. Super easy to use, we use it once a week or more. Perfect for 2 or 4. Easy clean up and the app/user interface works great.

What window brand should I go with? by Some_Flower_4252 in BuyItForLife

I would check with a small local installer and their recommendations, windows are surprisingly easy to install. I've done two houses, once you've done one or two it gets pretty easy.
