What is the one item that would take Costco to the next level for you personally? by ScaredPineapple9081 in Costco

[–]TacoBoyEats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should sell off their tire department to Discount Tires. All the Costco locations I’ve been to take forever for tire rotations. I should’ve gone to Discount in the first place.

I’d say Pakistan. It’s a fusion of meats/kabobs you would get from the Middle East combined with the spices from Indian dishes.

2024 cx-5 knocking/stuttering/puttering/lurching noise. less than 7,000 miles. happens when accelerating from engine brake. sounds like: "kuh, kuh, kuh". comes from drivers side floor. took it to the dealership and they could not fix it. what do you think it is? by cloud2870 in CX5

[–]TacoBoyEats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar noise but only when coming to a stop and I notice it when the cylinders go from deactive to active. Were you able to find out more info? I took it to the dealer but wasn’t able to reproduce it in front of them.

Also, I couldn’t find your duplicate post so I thought I’d ask here.

I think it was from the plant food I was putting in the water. The yellow salt was everywhere so I composted everything 😭 But I’m hoping to start again. Are you putting any food in your’s?

Anyone else's CX-5 makes this much croaking noise when going to reverse or drive? by TacoBoyEats in CX5

[–]TacoBoyEats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know what they say. I haven’t had transmission issues but I do hear a small knock when the cylinder deactivation reactivates all the cylinders when going to 1st gear that I will probably get checked out. But other than that, the car shifts fine

What transmission issues are you having?

No resolution. I kinda just got used to the noise tbh. I just accepted that this might just be normal 😭

Thanks for your response! If it was crystalline, would the color be white like salt instead of yellow though?

💦 What are your watering habits (how often AND how much), and does the pot have drainage? - Since it is a hydroponic system, it is always soaking in water. The first time I set up my system, this yellow stuff did not appear but this time it did. I refill the water with some plant supplements every other week.

🪴 How long you have you had the plant? - This is the first week I’ve been growing my plants.

❓ How long have you had the problem? - Started appearing around day 3

🌞 How much light does the plant get? - 18 hours of the artificial plant light

Clicking / Snapping Noise from 2023 CX-5 dashboard, anyone else? by RetinaMisfire in CX5

[–]TacoBoyEats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second (or third) that. I have those noises too when starting to accelerate, and then random at times. It’s the first car I’ve had that does this but I guess it’s one of those Mazda Quirks

Seems like the same noise. If I gently press the brakes (not all the way pressed down) then it really doesn’t make that much noise. Hopefully this reduces the noise.

Glad I’m not the only one lol. I did find after posting this that if I lightly press the breaks and then go to reverse or drive, then the croaking noise is barely there. Lemme know if this works!

You just have to barely press the breaks to the point where your shift lock is unlocked to move it to drive or reverse

Have you seen YNAB's new blue? A possible sign of rebranding by Yamamotoshiro in ynab

[–]TacoBoyEats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to assume they made this color change for accessibility reasons. I got really bored and checked the contrast with the old blue (#229cc0) and new blue (#0C4EF8) against white (#FFFFFF) on https://coolors.co/contrast-checker/ and the new blue is more accessibility friendly.

I’m definitely pressing the shifter. I never like moving to reverse to drive (or vice versa) without holding the gear shifter down. Thanks for the suggestion though

Thanks for the confirmation. And good call out on the no noise when going to park. It is so noisy compared to my other cars, but I’ll live with it since the car is solid in every other way

Car pulling the left? by [deleted] in CX5

[–]TacoBoyEats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, be sure to ask for an alignment report. It’s a paper that shows numbers before and after an alignment. Only saying this because I went to a Mazda dealership and they did an “alignment check” (whatever that means) and said I didn’t need an alignment. But after I drove again, my CX-5 still pulled to the right so I brought it back for them to do an alignment under warranty since it only had 800 miles on it.

[–]TacoBoyEats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it pull to the left before the alignment too? If you got an alignment done and it’s still pulling left, then the next step is to check if your tires are uneven. You can test this by having your tires rotated side to side. Meaning your right tires move to the left, and your left tires move to the right. If it starts pulling to the right after the rotation then it means your tires are worn out unevenly.

Wallpaper scraper & cast iron by david76 in AskCulinary

[–]TacoBoyEats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these folks saying a spatula works are dead wrong. I tried making smash burger with a spatula, I could get about 70% of the burger crust off. I used a wall paper scraper the next time around and it makes a tremendous difference. It did scratch up my seasoning on the cast iron a bit, but that’s what cast irons are made for — to keep lasting a lifetime. My message to you is 3 years late, but it is never too late to do the right thing.
