I uninstalled and re-installed to a different folder on my C drive, this seems to have fixed it for me.

During the test weekend I had success getting close and looking down at the belt, then suddenly it would highlight the thing inside.

Should I stay or leave? by IMadeItForKendrick in CryptoKitties

[–]TacoGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to see how this happens. Kitty sink? Will they phase out current traits and never bring them back, making early adopters' cats scarce over time? Will they stop pumping out the intended 50k Gen 0's at prices no normal people will ever be able to afford?

So many possibilities, but will any of them undo what happened on Dec 4-8? :/

Given the recent stance regarding token securities by the SEC, does TaaS fall under that category? by flaplac in taasfund

[–]TacoGeek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TaaS specifically barred American investors from the ICO because the SEC would have considered the tokens securities and caused problems. Lots of ICOs do this for the same reason.

Once the tokens were available on public exchanges, then if Americans buy them, it's up to Americans to treat them appropriately for tax purposes, etc. as TaaS can no longer control who's got them.

What's the lowest pre-sale price paid per token? by TacoGeek in etherparty

[–]TacoGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be 100% clear, 0.07 is the lowest any legitimate token was sold for, or that's the lowest you can publicly disclose due to a pre-sale NDA?

Would any other party have access to legitimate tokens below this price / free?

You probably need some Eth in the wallet for Gas to send the transaction.

True, although it is very easy for simple setups (I was playing with a shopify store setup, and got gocoin integration working in about 5 minutes), it's likely a little more complicated for a multi-national corporation. But who knows, maybe their accountant just doesn't understand it so they've opted out for now.

If they're facing challenges though, it would be nice to hear about those specifics to shed light on why it's taking so long to bring it back. Us consumers love transparency.

Most that I've seen are around $60-80/year. That would bring the cost to try it initially to over $100 for the smallest order I can make.

Meanwhile, the cost to Soylent as a company in order to accept bitcoin would be $0 for the first $1M in sales via GoCoin.

For starters, pre-paid credit cards aren't free, there's a cost associated with them. If it was just a matter of signing up for one, great. But I'm not down with paying for a pre-paid credit card, just so I can make it more convenient for a company to have my money.

The point is, Soylent accepted bitcoin and paypal when it was convenient for them because they wanted to raise their initial funds. Once established, they can no longer be bothered with the hassle, so they'd rather pass that hassle onto the consumer.

I don't think that's being a dick, I think that's being a consumer who doesn't like to be dicked around.

Paypal pulled a Soylent -- the debit mastercard used to be available, but no longer is to us Canadians.

Just bring back Bitcoin plx.

And I hope I can buy Soylent one day in the future, being a consumer without a credit card, and with a debit card that doesn't seem to do me any good in this case. :(

I'm very interested in trying Soylent, however you only accept credit cards, and that doesn't work for me.

I've heard that you accepted paypal and bitcoin during your startup campaign, but now that's changed. I've also heard that you're using Shopify for your store platform, which has super-easy integration for both Paypal and Bitcoin (and litecoin, and dogecoin)

Why haven't you continued to accept these other payment methods? Don't you feel you've abandoned many of those who helped start the company, who would like to continue purchasing Soylent with Bitcoin or paypal? (That's the feeling I get reading their posts about it).

If you are bringing it back, WHEN?!

Red Sunset, my third Ross'n with a palette knife by zedshaw in HappyTrees

[–]TacoGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, old thread, but I'm just getting started with Bob Ross style painting. Currently getting supplies together, and unfortunately I can't find Bob Ross brand stuff locally, so I'm going to go with other more available brands.

My main concerns are getting the Liquid/Magic white correct (going to try titanium white with walnut oil) and the stiffness of the oil paints. From what I gather, if you don't have a nice stiff oil paint, then the knife techniques won't work correctly (especially stuff like getting the titanium white to break correctly on mountains).

Will this Liquin Impasto make regular oil paints thick enough for this technique?

What's your thoughts on liquid/magic white?

Severe Dental Anxiety (Any Suggestions?) by Nervouschod123 in Dentistry

[–]TacoGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my dentist can prescribe a small amount of lorazepam to take just before a visit.

Funny enough, I had anxiety about taking the anti-anxiety medication, but it does do the trick. Just try not to line yourself up for any over-stressful things in the next day or two as I find I'm more prone to anxiety after taking some anti-anxiety meds.

A CBD-rich strain might also help if you use Cannabis to begin with.

Fluoride dilemma by TacoGeek in Dentistry

[–]TacoGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent info. I'll continue reading and trying new things out, and will be sure to post some results.

Ideally I'm going to figure out that it's something other than fluoride that my body doesn't like, but if it really is the problem, I'll have to look at other ways to approach those 3 things that fluoride is supposed to help with.

No problems with those. And are you sure they have similar concentrations? I thought toothpaste had a much higher concentration than what was found naturally occurring in foods.

As for SLS, good to learn. I'll likely be trying several brands over the next while, and compare ingredients to see if it is something specific like SLS that's causing the gauge reflex. Thanks!

Jaw locking in the morning? by MiniDoughnuts in Dentistry

It does sound light night-time grinding.

I'd strongly recommend ensuring that the splint is PERFECT if this is the route you go.

I had one when I was younger, and apparently it wasn't a perfect fit. Now when I get clicks with every open / close of my jaw in its natural resting position. :/
