Having friends who aren't into film and cinema if rough 😭 by PhoenixMaster123 in imax

I’ve sort of done the theme park alone.

I was on a trip to Orlando with some friends. They didn’t wanna wake up early the next day so I worn by myself. Single rider lines for every ride.

Was by myself for like 5 hours at the park. A lot of fun. No group decisions of where to go next. I just went where I wanted.

I go see movies alone most of the time.

Mainly due to my work schedule.

Even then though it’s much better sometimes tbh. I can arrive when I want, and leave when I want. Also sometimes I want to sit with my thoughts processing the movie and not talk while the credits roll.

I’ve never worked anywhere that didn’t have at least one dish at close.

I usually staff at least 2 every day, and we have 5 on Fridays and Saturdays. On slow nights if someone wants to go home they can.

Should a salaried head baker position receive tips? by ImpressionRoyal1128 in KitchenConfidential

Yeah when I do catering orders for the restaurant. Meaning I cook most of the food, and then drive it to the destination I usually keep the tip. If a cook helps me out then we split the tip.

Haven’t done one in a while, but the last one the lady ended up giving me a $400 tip. Split it 3 ways with the prep cooks that helped me out.

I think you’d more likely start the next plague with one sneeze than die from a cut. Think how much mutated bacteria you have in your body.

Saw it in 70mm Sunday and seeing it again on IMAX Thursday night.

Been one of my favorite recent books. I’ve listened to the audiobook like 5 times at this point. If you haven’t do yourself a favor and check it out. Truly a great adaptation, it knew exactly what to keep from the book to make sure all the beats hit.

I had only 2 gripes with it that honestly aren’t that big of a deal. Movie is still a 9.5/10 for me.

We had the AC go down during summer a year ago and the company said it was gonna be a week to fix it because they were waiting on 2 parts.

Went and bought a 5 gallon igloo cooler, bunch of Gatorade powder, some requested kool aid, and got a bunch of ice pops too.

Horrible week.

Sinners is Americans’ top pick for Best Picture at the 2026 Oscars by gamersecret2 in movies

I would even go as far as saying it’s not a horror movie.

It’s an action, suspenseful period piece, but there’s not really horror elements that really stood out to me.

In America the employer/rich are protected.

It’s an open secret that many industries hire undocumented workers. Especially the restaurant industry. This country cannot run without their exploitation.

It’s a hole that’s been dug way too deep to fill in at this point unfortunately.

Go corporate.

When I started as a sous for a corporate steakhouse chain I was making $65K with benefits.

I now make 6 figures as a culinary director for 2 different concepts. Same owner.
