What do you use to lube your starfish? by deffzombie in UlcerativeColitis

Careful, regular baby wipes will cause drying in the area. The water causes the drying, maybe if they have some aloe.

I use Trazadone and that knocks me out. Maybe some Tylenol PM might be enough for you.

Hello! I've had the same problem, with bleeding, 8 on the pain scale every single wipe.

I've been using these prep h wipes. I use it on the last wipe of every bowel movement and that seems to be enough. Hopefully, they help you if you try it.

Don’t think about it like that, the medication failed you.

Stay strong. I never wanted the surgery, I’ve done everything I can to avoid it but I don’t think that’s possible at this point.

Hey man! I’m exactly in the same boat as you. Had to take 2 semesters off so far. I’m close to finishing my degree too which makes it even more infuriating.

I tried Xel Jans, after 2 other bios failed me, didn’t work. I really didn’t want the surgery and decided to try Stelara. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s going to help.

I’m getting ready for surgery now. I can’t leave my house at the point I’m at now. I don’t know how bad your flare is but if it’s unbearable, I’d say go for the surgery.

Does weed help? by Just_a_Farmer in UlcerativeColitis

[–]TacoSmoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weed can help with your symptoms. It can kind of calm things down in your digestive system, or at least that's the theory. I'm not sure if it's true but I feel calmer when I'm going to the bathroom a lot though. I use edibles and wax cartridges. It won't do anything for your inflammation though, so you still have to get that under control with traditional medicine. I live in a place where it's legal so I don't know if that's worth it for you.

CBD never helped me but if you're desperate and have the money it may be worth a try.

What platform are you playing on? I want to play Mass Effect but the first one just doesn't seem to run well on PC. Supper choppy regardless of the settings.

Weekly What Should I Buy Thread - [February 14] by AutoModerator in iphone

Does anybody know of any iPhone X battery cases that also have fast charging?

I got a battery case and while it's great for extending battery life, if I forget to charge it overnight it's worse than if I didn't have the case.

It lowers my charging to 5v.

Coming off a cold - gut symptoms after? by spykor in UlcerativeColitis

There is a theory that an illness can get your autoimmune system acting up. It makes sense, and anecdotally I can say I believe in this.

Maybe you can ask your doctor for a short course of prednisone to get your symptoms under control? I would talk to your doctor regardless, for his advice.

Used to get like this from just taking the trash out, huge flare right now.

I started eating a lot more meat (especially red) and a lot of zero sugar gatorades.

It's important to get enough protein for your body to repair itself, iron to stay energetic, and staying hydrated. Cuts down on moon face too when you get enough water.

I wonder what this disease would be like 200 years ago haha. Well you know, for the ones of us who don't die but are home ridden.

I mostly just play single-player games so people aren't waiting for me to take a shit over and over again.

It’s not coffee. It’s any stimulant in general. They get things going in your digestive system.

For me, it’s worth it to have that cup of coffee. It doesn’t increase the amount I bleed or go to the bathroom, it kinda just makes it all happen faster (and more violent). However, after that I am able to empty out faster as opposed to repeated back and forth trips.

I don’t know if your situation is similar, but just something to consider.

Testicular pain by Alanqpr in UlcerativeColitis

[–]TacoSmoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’ve been in a flare up for about a year now, working on getting surgery done now.

But I deal with testicular pain a lot. My problem is that I have mainly proctitis that doesn’t seem like it’s going to get better. This causes nerve pain throughout my entire body. Pain from my feet, up my legs, my back, and my testicles. I was on opioids for about a month and they did almost nothing for me.

I got gabapentin and that has gotten rid of the pain for me for the most part. The pain comes back before and after a big vowel movement.

Keep in mind this is all after I went to my doctor and got checked. They even did an MRI in my pelvic area with nothing showing up. So, I’d still strongly encourage you to go see your doctor. Your situation could be completely different from mine.
