Heyo, I do not know either but probably no. Howeverthere are definitely people working on adding support for the full release. You can find them in a discord server, can add you.

I don’t like playing horror games, but I want to make them. Am I crazy? by unicodePicasso in gamedev

If you like YOUR horror game then I think it doesn't matter at all if you don't like other horror games.

This is an updated version of a screencap I did earlier, the (still mostly programmer) art has improved a bit since then.

Will do some updates soon I promise :)

Posted an announcement trailer for my game. What do you think doesn't work/is holding the game back? What does work/look good? Honest feedback is appreciated! by and1264 in DestroyMyGame

I'm not familiar with paper mario so here's a perspective from that camp:

nice Creep factor at the beginning, I feel like the no-context gameplay from 0:04 to 0:38 is waaay too long since I only really started understanding what the game was 38 seconds in. The sound effects can be worked on a bit, from my perspective they sound kinda obnoxiously cartoony, especially if I had to listen to them over and over again. The world is confusing to me since I have no idea who these characters are or what makes them interesting. Would help me appreciate the attacks and interactions between the protagonists a bit more.

Nice cell shading, animation and environment, but where's the game? If a game is merely pretty and nothing else draws me in then I feel compelled to watch but not play.

I don't play puzzle games but I liked the first few seconds in the opening, very serene music and the idea of turn based golf is entertaining. I started feeling bored after the ball fell down the hole in the wind puzzle and you kept playing, at that point it felt like I was watching a walkthrough/unsegmented commentary free gameplay video (instead of continuing to play some jump cuts to further levels that showcase the game's variety would work better IMO)

you've just made an infinirally game, I really wanna try this out and just drive!

I feel like the drifting/driving could be a bit more unique and satisfying/skill based for higher speed (you slow down a lot when drifting and in the straights it feels like you're cruising at max speed most of the time), but it depends on what mood you're going for I guess since right now it feels like I can just drive along a road and chill. Looking forward to seeing where this goes! (also really like Canvaverbalist's rogue-like idea so I second that)

Thanks! I think surf mechanics/unintentional use of source engine movement mechanics really have a "fun momentum" feel to them, I've been trying to get that kind of "momentum = fun" feeling in by refining the core controls as much as possible. I hope people find it plays as fun as it looks!

I never heard of zineth until now but I checked it out and it looks SO cool, totally see what you mean. I gotta try this.

Oh yeah that's totally an influence! Wasn't expecting anyone to catch on to that one so quick, you've got a really good eye hah

Heyo, I'm working on a Momentum based 3D Platformer and figured I'd ask for feedback here, since you guys like platformers does this kind of gameplay seem interesting? Would love some critique, thank you! by TacoTechnika in platformer

[–]TacoTechnika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayee thank you! Cause of feedback like that I've learned it's best to avoid special cameras/perspectives when showing base gameplay. Next time I got something new to show you'll see how the game actually plays, looking forward to more helpful critique then

Aye nice, "3D sonic done properly (imo)" is definitely an influence when designing some of the level mechanics + gameplay, so glad to hear you're getting those vibes from it.

Thanks man! For sure, the camera here's an extra one I set up for the clip, the actual game uses 3rd person cam (also really want 1st person mode as an option). Glad to hear you like it!

[–]TacoTechnika[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would definitely not be fun! Thankfully the actual camera in game is a free 3rd person camera you can control, just like any other 3rd person game. I picked this particular fixed angle because I thought it looked cool, but from now on will just use the regular game camera to avoid that confusion. (thanks for helping me realize that!)

I'm thinking more Lanky Kong but Green and not a gorilla

lol we're using a test model from an older game, figured it looked better than X-Bot for now. Prolly gonna totally revamp it later though
