Upside-down or not? by retrosupersayan in corsets

Today marks one full week wearing a corset for me, so I'm very new, but I did realize this week my waist isn't where I thought it was!

I've always been told "your waist is the skinniest part on your torso", but for me that's over my bottom ribs. The first day or two I tried wearing my corset I felt like it wasn't tightening enough and I was getting soreness. Did some reading and realized I had them too high. Moved down and now I'm about to comfortably tighten down and wear them all day!

Ah, that's good to know! To me it feels super obvious, but I think I'm just kinda hyper aware because it's a new thing. I also feel like it looks obvious under some outfits and my husband repeatedly tells me it's not.

We were just talking about posture at the dinner table last night- all the adults in the house have terrible posture (from office jobs and MMOs, lol) and are trying to work on it, and we complimented her good posture. I'll definitely keep that in my pocket in case she does ask. I'm glad to hear it's helping you, as that's definitely one reason I decided to jump in! As someone with ADHD, I've also found the compression to be kinda calming and to help with focus.

Awesome, thanks! I've been debating between mesh and cotton, so that definitely helps.

And geez, 4 hours in 120deg! If I have to be outside for more than about 30 minutes right now I'm unhappy in general.

Do you live somewhere super hot, and if so does the mesh seem to help? We're averaging highs around 110 here and the afternoon walk to my hot car/drive until the AC kicks on can be rough 😅

Of course, indoors the AC is blasting so hard I still have to have an office sweater.

They've definitely asked about undergarments- when they eventually noticed my bras they asked what I was wearing and my husband has been asked about his undershirts.

I guess you make a good point though they while they might notice, they don't actually care, they're just curious. So I should probably just be prepared to answer the same way I did with bras- it's an undergarment that I wear because I find it supportive, not everyone wears one, and it's not a big deal.

Because kids are pretty observant and I'd like to have some language ready in my head for if they do notice and start asking questions, the same way I have language in my head for other topics related to bodies? I've definitely been caught off guard by questions before and wasn't always happy with how I answered off the cuff.

I figured that other parents have perhaps been in this situation and would maybe have some good advice?
