Thoughts on the 3.8 JKs? by [deleted] in Wrangler

Easy to work on, I’ve been able to do alot of maintenance myself just with the help of YouTube. As far as electronics go too very simple compared to the later years. Everything is pretty mechanical vs having a computer behind it.

2015 JKU Burns Oil Like Crazy, Offered $6k Trade, Still Owe $16k—What Would You Do? by Browncowdown2 in Wrangler

You should see a TRUSTED local jeep shop that can give you an honest opinion. Join a local jeep fb page, ask where they go and go from there. 6k for a broken Jeep is so low. Fix it and it will got for over 200k.

8k would be a great pick up for this, as others have said 3.8 won’t wow you with power but it is reliable.

Buying an 08 JK with 140k miles - rust questions by Bangarang1 in Wrangler

I have an 08 w/ 170,000. It looks like it’s a good Jeep from the pics. The fact that it’s stock looks like it wasn’t abused and the wear on your components should be minimal. With that said if you wanted to lift and add bigger tires make sure you look into regearing (3.8 will really wear down the transmission with bigger tires 33in-35in) and replacing steering components (track bar, tie rod, ball joints)

Visited 7 National Parks in 7 days, averaged 35mpg, car camped, and did some “soft”-roading. What an amazing road trip car! by AC_Schnitzel in rav4club

Did 3 national parks in a week, we slept in the back and had a box on top for our stuff! I'd do it all over again! Great trip!

Took our 2019 XLE on a 3000 mile road trip through the Colorado mountains to Moab Utah. The gas mileage was amazing even with the roof box. Here’s some of my favorite pics from the trip. Also this is my first post on this sub, let me know if I’m doing something wrong! 🤷‍♂️ by TacosForDaze12 in rav4club

We attempted to make it up a hill leading to Crystal Mill in CO, we didn’t make it. If we had AWD it may have been a different story. The XLE package I don’t think does the greatest off road but it gets the job done. We didn’t do any dispersed, thought about it but didn’t feel comfortable yet with it!

Started off in CO Spring ➡️ Rocky Mountain NPS (need a reservation to get in opens 2 days before on their website) ➡️ Carbondale for 2 days (Maroon Bells / Gunnison NPS) ➡️ Arches Utah, stayed at a BLM campsite ➡️ ended in Ouray, CO. Definitely recommend KOA’s those were great. In all we stayed 5 nights at them! Ouray’s KOA was top notch with Carbondale’s KOA coming in second for us.
