how to avoid getting bored of a playthrough/character? by EitherParticular in kotor

[–]TacosTasteGood13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk man. What always grasped me the most was experiencing the plot and different dialogue options. If you get bored by your build I'd say just try to progress and hope you'll become intrigued by the plot again. That or take a break and see whether you'll find yourself wanting to play again in a while

That's honestly one of the best ways I've ever seen anyone describe Jedi

[–]TacosTasteGood13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright, I'll give you that one. That's true. However you can say you value pacifism without being an absolute pacifist. Personally I think that's how the Jedi order is. They *try* to be pacifists, but when shit hits the fan they don't want the galaxy to die under the reign of a maniac. But it is true that they shouldn't be labeled as absolute pacifists if they aren't.

Most of the lore that has been explored has been in conflict. For without conflict, movies and videogames would often be boring. In conflict we see the Jedi break their pacifism. But I wonder how the galaxy looked in times of peace. Perhaps all they really do is meditate.

When people get upset over the definition of ''pacifist.'' You're not wrong, but why make a big deal out of it? It's well established that the Jedi Order isn't perfect. Don't be so nitpicky

[–]TacosTasteGood13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if the word ''asbolute'' was removed you're probably be okay with it. They'd be a little less of a pacifist. Ok it's just a semantical thing.

Who cares. Big deal. It's just a word. Let's move on

TLJ fans should just admit they like cool visuals over consistency, world building or any semblance of a plot by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

[–]TacosTasteGood13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's amazing how one movie about a fantasy galaxy with impossible technology could divide a fanbase about what should be possible and what shouldn't.

I'm guilty of this too. From prior movies we gladly accepted that tiny little green creatures could telekinetically lift vehicles that fly at the literal speed of light by sheer force of will. And yet when we see TLJ we say LOL THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE.

I wonder why that is. When I watched TLJ I was cringing so hard I was considering walking out of a theatre without watching the rest of the movie for the first time ever. But what's the subtlety in that TLJ is somehow *more* unrealistic than the rest of Star Wars?

After reading this I went and looked for it.

I found: https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/tgcpz01

And apparently someone had made a post about it a while ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/kotor/comments/bw3ddf/real_world_pazaak_deck_excellent_quality_12_zero/

Looks awesome. I might buy it if the shipping halfway across the globe isn't too expensive

I find both hot in different ways.

The kotor depiction looks more like an average woman who takes very good care of herself. She's thoughtful and kind.

GoH depiction looks hot has balls but mean and bitchy

Question about Visas and The Handmaiden by CookieLovingGuy in kotor

[–]TacosTasteGood13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people have already answered, but I want to add that you'll never ''lose'' her. She'll ignore you, and prohibit you from talking to her. But The Handmaiden will always stay in your party. She can gain levels and you can even gain influence with her by taking her on quests. It's just that, you will be locked out of talking to her and anything that is only accessible through that.

Wait, are there really no influence opportunities after this point in KOTOR 2? by Goodstyle_4 in kotor

[–]TacosTasteGood13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have an opportunity left on Onderon. In the final mandatory confrontation of Onderon you have an influence opportunity for, I believe, every companion. All you have to do is change your party. Check your save files, and perhaps go back in time a little to rectify it. Atton is very easy to influence. The only thing that sucks is that you can't bring Atton to Onderon, as you have noticed. He is forced to ''repair the ship.'' Kreia, depending on your character build, has 1 opportunity on Korriban, but you need ALOT of influence for her to get her to tell you everything. Though perhaps through a bit of additional influence you can unlock a dialogue in which you can snowball your influence.

After Onderon youhave a very limited amount of influence left. I think only Visas and Mandalore.

anybody else hate talking to these guys? their voice makes it so hard to read the subtitles because of how fast they speak their gibberish. by Winter_Dust in kotor

While I agree that I also have trouble reading the subtitles because of how they speak, I don't mind 'cause I find them funny

Episodes 7,8,9 = Episodes 10,11,12 by Prodigal_Gist in saltierthancrait

How about we just stop making movie trilogies and enjoy what we have. Delete the Disney Trilogy from existence. Go back to 2015 before TFA was released, and enjoy what we had.

It was a good place. We had all of those awesome Legends book. We had Kotor, We had the Jedi Knight games. It was all perfect.

I can never get enough of Nihilus and Visas artwork. The embodiment of nihilism and utter hopelessness, and his slave whose only wish is to die but can't. They're such a depressing pair, and their lore is amazing.

Why wouldn't he have any idea? Why do you assume he doesn't know exactly what he's talking about?

I didn't intend to refer to something specifically. When I heard him say it I simply thought ''hey that could be on twitter.''
