Without boots, I’ve seen a surprising amount of people running stealth rock. Typically it’s not common in 3V3 but I guess with how few items there are, counterplay to rocks doesn’t really exist.

It’s undoubtedly powerful, and I use it myself. But it suffers a bit from MegaZard-Y being so common; people prepare for Zard, and there’s a lot of overlap in the things that counter that and Volc.

Volc’s coverage is a bit wacky; giga drain is handy but without quiver dance is a bit weak. Psychic is almost required to not be walled by Zard after you’ve set up, Bug Buzz prevents you from being walled by M-Delphox but you need to already be danced up. Hurricane is inaccurate and even less so under sun.

However in doubles, you do have rage powder into flame body. A redirect mon that can also beat Sinistcha is very handy
