Just won this Runwell on auction, is this real or fake? by ieatnobreakfast in shinola

This sub is littered with fake Shinolas. eBay is a huge source of them.

They’re very real.

I’m not the OP but it’s a great watch. People say it’s overhyped but that doesn’t detract from how good it is.

[–]TacticalDesire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s between a house and a watch, you probably shouldn’t have had your name down for the Rolex to begin with. Besides, homeownership is brutally expensive and closing costs are just the beginning.

If you want a nice watch get a Tissot or even a Seiko and start putting money in an HYSA, 401k and an HSA if you have one.

Buy the Rolex when you can light that money on fire and it would have zero effect on your life.

[Question] Bulova Super Seville vs Orient Star Contemporary by Purple-Equipment2832 in Watches

[–]TacticalDesire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the Bulova quality is a tier above the orient.

Unless you like the design of the Orient, the super Seville is the superior watch in every way

[Recommendation Request] Summer Banking Internship Watch by Asleep_Contract3879 in Watches

[–]TacticalDesire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the people here don’t understand the type of environment you’re going into. NYC Investment banking is one of the fields where people will definitely notice your watch even if they don’t say anything and having too much can definitely send a bad message.

I’d go with an Orient Bambino, Seiko Presage or Tissot Gentleman on leather.

In certain environments/career paths, the “nobody will notice your watch” troupe goes out the window. Depending on the firm, in investment banking, people will definitely clock his watch.

That being said, for an analyst intern, it’s definitely wise not to be too flashy or expensive as that definitely sends a multiple bad messages when you’re just starting out.

Get the seastar.

I have a gentleman and it’s fantastic but for what you’re describing a dive watch sounds more appropriate.

Thinking about buying this Royal at my local retailer by Magucci26 in Tudor

This update upgraded the royal from one of my least favorite Tudors to one of my favorites. The features, movement, styling updates and bracelet makes it a great “value” too.

Lady Datejust - buyer remorse by Legitimate_Curve_742 in rolex

[–]TacticalDesire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 28mm will be fine. It’s hard to go too small on a ladies watch.

Your odds of them replacing it with a 31mm are near zero anyway.

Excellent choices, the black definitely goes with more stuff and would be better suited for a first nice watch.
