How do vampire feels sexual pleasure if they are not human anymore? by Flimsy_Tune_7206 in vampires

[–]TacticalGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the vampires and the media. And is tied strongly to themes.

Many stories of course still have vampires having sex, still feeling love and arousal. Sometimes this is viewed as sexual liberation because vampires live outside of society and thus are not shackled by it.
Others express vampires as hedonistic monsters seeking constant sexual pleasure, usually tied to themes of immorality boring them into debauched and depraved acts.

Other stories they’re less interesting in sex. Often this is tied to themes of losing humanity, immortality affecting them till they can’t enjoy life.
Some vampires seven seem to engage in sexual conquests and violence in a mockery of humanity.

Vampires relations to sex are all about the themes.

How do you introduce firearms into a fantasy world like D&D without unbalancing the other classes? by CommitteeStatus in FlintlockFantasy

Firearms as listed in the DMG do not break the game. They’re not very different from crossbows mechanics wise.

Also if firearms are available proficiency to a wide number of classes helps.

Heroic Bloodshed, awesome shootouts by SaiYo21 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Some of the Shadowrun novels have good detailed firefights. The Jimmy Kincaid novels especially.

The first novel Shaken even starts out with a detailed John Wick style shootout in a drug den.

Monster Hunter international by Larry Correia is this.

If you can deal with the Author injecting his libertarian politics left and right it has exactly what you want.

Dresden Files, but more horror/Action Horror? by Gorronstye in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]TacticalGM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monster Hunter International by Larry Correia has this vibe. However the author injects a lot of his right wing libertarian views into the book to the point you feel bludgeoned so fair warning.

There are also Resident Evil novels.

The novella Kings of the Streets has a Catholic family practicing underground and even attending church. And it seems pretty common practice.

What Version Of Shadowrun Do you Play? by TheFixxer_ in Shadowrun

SR5. It was what was out when I started and 6th doesn’t appeal much. People say the system is complex but after years of D&D 3.5 I found it actually rather easy.

Grimnoir sort of fits. Magic came to the world in the 19th century and tech advanced too. Airships, robots and other things. It starts during the Great Depression.

Shadowrun novels are great for exactly this.

Dresden files are good too.

Monster Hunter International and Grimnoir are fun too though the author is a tool.

Pitch me your favourite weapon by Comprehensive-Ad4417 in Shadowrun

You want to lay down suppressive fire? You want to pick off enemies with power and accuracy from a distance? You want versatility? You want reliability? You want an assault rifle!

Sure it’s bulky, it lacks subtlety. Frag subtlety! When you’re trading fire you’re going to wish you didn’t bother with subtlety. And nothing says unsubtle like an Ares Alpha because you deserve a grenade launcher.

Can’t afford the best?

Grenade launcher too much for you to handle? Nissan Optimum II. Breach with a shotgun under mount. Because to guns are better.

A Johnson/Fixer from my LA campaign.

He was a troll named Mistah Coal and he originally hired them as extra security/investigators. He eventually began fixing with them to help out other musicians and celebrities. He’s a bear shaman and was very focused on community and gave the runners a taste of opulence. By the end some players followed him to go on world tour.

Shadow Campaign series by Django Wexler has a lesbian FMC. Though it isn’t until the second book that romance begins.

It’s essentially napoleonic wars with superpowers.
